America’s COVID-19 Death Toll Has Now Surpassed The Vietnam War

The number of confirmed deaths from COVID-19 in the U.S. has now exceeded the number of Americans who died in the Vietnam War as of Wednesday morning.

Surpassed the death toll in Vietnam in a matter of months not years that it took to reach these numbers. And, anyone remember how horrified we were back then?
This is one new scary world we’ve entered and I can only hope we can get to something resembling normal in the future.

And like the Vietnam War, at least some of this might have been avoided with realistic and determined leadership…qualities notably absent in the current administration. Tragically, the dying will probably continue.

Didn’t trumpfuckwad actually say “You’ll be sick with all the winning” ?

I’m assuming “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?“ will no longer be the republican election pitch.

Or our idea of normal will change…

Well, isn’t this special? Disgraced, former Missouri Governor Grietens is distributing faulty face masks to first responders for the GOP and Koch Brothers in Kansas City:

Not even months. Six weeks.

“Whether it was luck, talent, or something else, we saved many thousands of lives,” he told reporters in the Oval Office.

You also told us it was
a hoax
under control at 15 cases
going to vanish in warmer weather
treatable by injecting/ingesting toxic products

Sorry. Here’s the right prompt from earlier post:

He found them when he was cleaning out his garage and it was cheaper then bringing them to the dump.

AND we have just reached the peak of the infection curve.

Now comes the long, slow decline of infection rates (soon to jump back up as States foolishly “reopen” too soon.)

Because of this, I expect the final Death Toll, around the November election time frame, to be WELL over 100,000, especially after they go back and examine the huge jump in deaths not directly attributed to COVID-19 because the person died at home and/or was NEVER TESTED for COVID-19.

Great Job Donnie…

Thank you Republican Death Panel for causing such widespread death and devastation through ignorance, greed and whoring. No matter how many Americans are killed, how much of our money is stolen and how many women and girls are groped, grabbed and raped by our great leader and christian messiah President Skanky Turdface, we have to be grateful to him and his half-wife Iwanka for their benificence and beauty.

Don’t believe you are taking account of the probability of a second and stronger wave of the virus. Likely to ramp up post-Labor Day.

“Something else” being naked racism?

Part of the problem with this analogy is the fact that to most of America (anyone under the age of 60) this is a meaningless statistic from a time long before they were even born (like quoting the death toll of the 1918 Spanish Flu.) Most people have no memories from before they were 5, and most are not “socially aware” of the world around them until they are at least 12, so, for them, this is the distant past that they have no memories of, short of the movies and TV shows (and outright propaganda) they have seen about it. They are not emotionally invested AT ALL in anything that happened before 1985 because it didn’t affect them personally.

Americans have notoriously short social memories, preferring their Fantasy Memories to actual HISTORY.

Until we have a full accounting ON LIVE TV of the names of the dead (a la the AIDS crisis) as a society we just don’t care, because for the vast majority of Americans, it has not affected them personally (yet.)

Sad to say, but it’s true.

He also told you he’s not responsible for anything.

The American Coronavirus death toll as of today has exceeded the number of Americans killed in the Vietnam War.
You can call it the bone spurs demarcation point or the MAGA not line.
