Alleged Mar-a-Lago ‘Spy’ Trial Gets Off To Surreal Start | Talking Points Memo

The trial of alleged Mar-a-Lago intruder and supposed Chinese “spy” Yujing Zhang started with a bout of the bizarre that has become typical of the case, briefly delaying proceedings.

Throughout the case, Zhang has made bizarre choices — like choosing to represent herself in court — that have raised enduring questions about her mental health.

We’ll know she has a problem when she starts issuing nonsensical weather reports.

The case, meanwhile, about counterintelligence vulnerabilities at Mar-a-Lago.
Really?
As if concerns hadn’t been raised when he held a security meeting at his garden party.

Ah, so this case is basically a test run for Donald Trump.

And just make sure nobody hands her a Sharpie…

I see the problem… To have counterintelligence operations, one must encounter intelligence first.

Therefore, there are no counterintelligence vulnerabilities at Mar-a-GoGo.

Why is the judge allowing this? He has the option to require that a public defender be in court, at least as a backup, to represent her in case it all goes off the rails. Which it sounds like it is already.

There are two of them there. But he can’t force her to use them as counsel.

I doubt foreign nations or their representatives have anything to worry about so far as having secrets stolen while at Mar-a-Lago. They know what’s up and are taking appropriate measures. The only nation that is probably losing intel at a high rate is the U.S.

That’s okay by me - I’m north of the blast radius of the atomic bomb Donnie’s going to drop, and the prevailing winds aren’t headed my way. Sucks to be in San Diego though…

They’re also at risk, because we trade in all of their secrets. So a vulnerability in America can affect, say, Germany, if stuff gets leaked/stolen that we have on them…

Not for long…

True. It would be interesting to know how much our flow of intel has been reduced because other nations know Trump leaks like a sieve, and what they gave us previously in the spirit of cooperation, transparency and working towards mutual goals is now closed off.

I expect that is quite significant. Also likely has massively affected recruitment of sources world-wide (thus the article today about the source we exfiltrated), that prefer to keep their head connected to their torso via a “neck”, thus aren’t willing to work for us.

Shudder to think how many people have already been killed because of him, there have been an awful lot of deaths in Russia, much of which could well be clean-up operations by the russkies.

O/T: Trump speaks!

And he’s already walking things back, calling it a “potential Camp David meeting”…

But donnie, I thought it was in the bag, was happening imminently when you decided to cancel it…
