When people use the term “it could snowball”, it can allude to exponential increase (often from a relatively small beginning).
And, in the case of the Insurrection, I am prepared to count “danger to Team Trump” as what is increasing.

I would not enjoy being a person of interest and in the cross-hairs of LEO and the DOJ. If I had a bit of bravado I would be doing a lot of bluster and boasting…
But that would not make my predicament any better.
Agreed, although there’s likely more “fruit” out there.
What’s going on is that they’re trying to concentrate on the more violent and coordinated folks, and chiefly amongst those the ones who have relatively readily recoverable/discoverable electronic records of substance, to try to move further up the chain of conspiracy to obstruct Congress/government function. At least half the folks involved will likely not be charged/called as witnesses at all…at least based on what we’ve seen by this investigation so far. The goal is to roll up the most violent and connected rioters, the most vocal and publicly prominent ones, etc. One might also imagine that there has been a lot of investigative resources spent on trying to figure out who planted those bombs at the GOP and DP HQ buildings as well… although that seems to (publicly anyways) have not made much progress.

The small fry are probably just useful in closing a few gaps or serendipitous stuff, like having seen someone else of interest or identifying actions a appearing in photos or clips…not much else.
In the meantime, while that sideshow has been going on, the other cases have been chugging along in the background, being checked three times for air-tightness. When those start rolling out, whoa, baby, gotta make sure I have enough popcorn!
