When did equal protection under the law become controversial?
“The people will rally to someone who shows spine”
Bird
Yeah because punching down on trans kids takes a butt ton of courage./s
When the SC projected that using “sincerely held beliefs” was the way to use one’s 1st amendment rights to limit the rights of others.
“… the decision had been requested by a conservative Christian group.”
Can we stop calling these bigoted asshats “Christian?” They are no more Christian than Pontius Pilate.
Christianist works for me. Shows they claim that title but the rest of us have doubts.
At best, I would call them Xtian.
The road to Naziville is paved with bad intentions.
The religious need to be controlled. It’s that simple.
Crucify them?
The horseshoe theory at work.
Nope, just the boundaries that need to be set to prevent their neverending quest to control the rest of us from ever reaching fruition.

If you ain’t White and right, you ain’t nothin’.
Having been follower of Jesus Christ my entire life I am left ashamed to identify myself with the modern bigotry that professes to be Christianity.
Your broad brush alienates many progressives of faith. You’re the one who suggested controlling those unlike you.
A large demographic of the Democratic Party are black women, especially in the South, who are motivated by their faith. Senator Sanders’ inability to create a bond with these voters coupled with the fact that he was a stranger to communities of color before his Presidential campaign, doomed his candidacy.
The unwillingness to build constituencies with others who have similar political goals but different perspectives on faith is a failing of many fighting Republican extremism. Try not to alienate those who should be your allies.
A decent article discussing Jimmy Carter and his perspective on evangelism.
Name the “progressives of faith” who need to be forced to behave according to rules like “don’t discriminate against gay people or POC” and “your religion is not a get out of jail card for whatever laws you don’t like.” Name them…and I will tell you with a straight face that they need to be subjugated to secular laws.
