I’m bisexual in a straight marriage, so I can hide, I could pretend, and I can hide from myself and pretend that these don’t affect me. Except. I have three queer teenage kids now. I’m thinking it’s time to put the rainbow flag on everything, including my beard. I think it’s time for me to make my friends and neighbors, the people of Spokane Valley and North Idaho, have to deal with my queerness every time they encounter me. I think it’s time that I be out and proud, for the sake of my kids.
Anyone who believes that I deserve to be tortured forever, and my children deserve to be tortured forever because they will not pledge allegiance so their deity, and their bigotry, is not an ally. Anybody who believes that I deserve torture is not my friend.
That having been said, Jesus is my friend. Jesus didn’t believe any of those things. And anyone who believes in Jesus knows full well that when I am attacking Christianity, I am attacking their enemy as well, so I do it without fear.

No one is forcing them to believe anything or to gay marry or to have abortions.
