Trump orders terminally ill immigrant children fast-tracked for deportation, ending the Obama era practice of treating sick children before deportation processing.
“Many of the people affected by the policy change came to the U.S. through a visa or other permitted status and are requesting to stay beyond those terms to receive medical treatment,” WBUR reported Monday.
According to CommonWealth Magazine, the immigrants facing deportation include children with “children with cancer, cystic fibrosis, HIV, and other illnesses.”
And the poor outnumber the rich, so if they started bleeding to death on the sidewalk, maybe, just maybe, they’d consider voting for representatives who would keep them from bleeding to death on the sidewalk.
Instead, they get to enjoy the beauty of both worlds-- vote for the pro-sidewalk-death crowd, while enjoying the healthcare, educational, safety, food safety, etc. provided by the anti-sidewalk-death crowd.
The white southern aristocracy would much rather be a big fish in a small pond. They will fight to be the top of the societal order, keeping both the poor, poor and other richer people out.
Think bolder. Resolution to kick the GOP out of Congress. The whole party. Can be easily justified by their support of a criminal and lawless President.
If the Alabama GOP delegation blazes this path, let them know it will not end well for them.
OK you want the elected Rep from MN thrown out. Well I for sure and I imagine 90% of all MN’ians want my taxes paid to the Feds left with in MN rather than being passed onto your do nothing state.
Alabama is the fourth most federally dependent state, according to a recent … return on taxes paid to the federal government, 2017 data.
Minnesota’s citizens and businesses paid $85.9 billion in federal taxes in 2013. That same year the state got back just $45 billion in federal benefits payments, grants, contracts, salaries and other compensation. The $40 billion gap is among the country’s biggest, according to newly released research compiled by the National Priorities Project.
They could spend their time and attention on 1) learning how to write, and 2) local measures to improve all the things wrong with the state as reflected in their state rankings. This measure, attempting to override the votes of those in another state entirely, obviously must be easier to do.
“What this resolution is going to do is ask our Alabama delegation in Washington to sort of get the ball rolling on this – see if they can unseat this lady,”
Republicans are such weak and fragile little bastards. This observation extends so deep into their entire ideology and way of being. They simply cannot handle the real world around them.
When i lived in Lee County, Alabama a few decades back, the lawn of the county courthouse had no trees. This is because a black man was lynched from one of those trees as recently as the mid-1980s . That land is barren is so many respects.
Tragic. Just tragic. You have to get up very early in the day and go to bed very late at night to conceive of the kind of crazy, racist, misogynist and hateful bullshit Republicans tend to spew on a regular basis. This really grates on my very last nerve. All-a-y’all in backwaters Alabama need to get woke. Now.
