YES. They “Really, Really” DO want to go down this road.

The Republicans have NOTHING ELSE to run for office on other than rank Racism and Xenophobia.
It is still VERY effective with their dwindling base, and if they lose the base, they are toast and they know it, so, it’s Racist Language and attacks on anyone “Other” all the way down from the Top of the Ticket to the lowest Dog-Catcher candidate.

When they have lost the argument on everything else the Republicans will ALWAYS resort to; God, Guns, and Gays.

Thus this “resolution” designed to distract the voting public from their horrendous President, his manifest Fuck-Ups, and their simpering complicity in them.

It’s just “Pay No Attention to that man behind the Curtain!!!” writ large.

Guardians Of Predators works too. And it covers more bases…or should I say more of their base.

I imagine they already pass a resolution calling for kicking Steve King from Congress? Or do only women of color bother them?

And so Alabama continues to make it all but impossible for large businesses to consider moving to Alabama because it is so fucking backwards.

Stay poor, Alabama! That’s the way.

Some people still feel lowering yourself to the standards of your competition is to be avoided. For example, it wouldn’t sit well with Democrats if they had a candidate taking intelligence briefings about their opponent from Russian operatives.

Feature, and a bedbug.

Man! If they keep this up, they’ll get her elected President in no time!

Seriously Alabama?

Aren’t you the same state who nominated and campaigned for a child molester (Roy Moore) for the United States Senate?

The fiscal stability ranking is so (relatively) high because ain’t nothin’ more stable than “rock bottom.”

Now, for contrast, do MN. :grinning:

I am surprised that the resolution didn’t mention the word “uppity.”

So when nothing happens, does that make the AL delegation all traitors?

I am not making this up, but it is a violation of the “Separate but Equal” clause of the Alabama Constitution for Alabama’s White Congressman to work in the same space with Illhan Omar.

In 2004 Alabama had a ballot measure to remove from the Alabama State Constitution the requirement that to include almost everything but especially schools, workplaces, cafes and bathrooms be “Separate but Equal”. The ballot measure lost and the requirement in the constitution that just about everything in Alabama be “Separate but Equal” remains as a requirement in the Alabama State Constitution.

I say all of this to say that according to its own constitution, its representatives in congress cannot eat at the same lunch counter, use the same bathrooms or even work in the same space with Ilhan Omar. That said, in my view as Alabama own laws must be violated for its White representatives to serve in Congress with Omar, I think there is a stronger case that it is Alabama’s White representatives that should be banned from Congress.

Ah, surprised they didn’t borrow from Tarrant County TX GOP.

But seriously, this slipperly slope they are on? Not going to end well.

They’re plenty happy to be exactly who they are. They see nothing wrong with it and will continue to continue.

Kinda like that lunatic uncle that everyone has in their families, we just pat them on the head and go on with our lives.

And lock up our guns away from them.

Pulling this radical shit is what caused a bunch of businesses to have a talk with Gregg Abbott and he backed off the bathroom nonsense because of bidness.

That’s what governors do - even shitty ones as a rule.

At a certain point we really should stop coddling them. They don’t want healthcare coverage? Fine, we don’t force them to get it. But we also pass laws revoking the universal right to seek care at an ER.

No coverage and no means to pay upfront for your care? Sorry, pal, you can bleed out on the sidewalk.

Fuck Hurricane recovery and FEMA. Let’s keep that money for the States who pony up cash for it, make it like a savings account that the State can draw on up to their contribution level.

We need to stop trying to save them from themselves.

They keep voting republican because they rarely suffer consequences for it, as we keep bailing them out of trouble.

True - we’ve been doing it since 1865.

The better-off people in many of these states are perfectly happy with the poor folks bleeding out on the sidewalk. Especially the 40-odd percent who vote for democrats.
