After DACA Ruling, Biden Calls On Senate To Help Dreamers Using Budget Reconciliation | Talking Points Memo

The morning after a federal judge in Texas halted new applicants to the Obama-era Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals program, Biden called on Congress to find a path to citizenship for Dreamers — and suggested using budget reconciliation to do it.

Yes, absolutely include this in reconciliation. So sick of the GOP and their minions constantly threatening the Dreamers.

I think it is now prudent to include in any discussion of Manchin and the filibuster some mention of the types of filibusters which exist. I also urge inclusion of analysts and public figures who are familiar with this topic.

I know that this is usually attached to S1 and its struggles through the Senate…However it is necessary for discourse dealing with any Senate with Mitch McConnell as a member.

I’m just heartbroken for these people. They all grew up here and consider themselves Americans. They’ve been jerked around now ever since Obama came up with DACA. They need security - this is killing them.
I wish someone would ask the GOP why they are so fucking mean.

It’s sickening.

I’m sure Sinema will have a good answer to her constituents if the Democrats can’t do it by reconciliation and she refuses to eliminate the filibuster to pass it.

I’d go back to search my comments on this, but it seems like 3 life times ago that I posed this question in regards to children and Jeff Sessions’ Family Separation Policy. What is going to happen to the children that can’t be reunited with their parents, or their parents request that the child stays in the US with a relative? And what if that relative is undocumented?
I thought about this since I read the WaPo story this morning. I realize that these kids are a much smaller grouping than those who have dealing with this for 20+ years, the kids separated at the border from their parents just makes it that much harder to stomach.

There is a real shortage of people to do all kinds of jobs in New Mexico. Especially service jobs - most of the restaurants in Taos have had to close for half a week because they don’t have enough staff. DACA candidates want to work and they aren’t letting them because their status is uncertain.

This just makes no sense.

For the plebes, it makes them feel better about their own sorry-ass lives. For the plutocrats, it keeps the plebes distracted from who’s really screwing them. The system is self-reinforcing that way.

yeah but I still think people should ask them face to face. It’s easier to be that way when you’re part of a group that does. Start asking them individually why they are so mean to everybody.

I thought this was already litigated, all the way to the Supreme Court? What’s the new challenge about?

And the RWNJ’s wrap themselves in the Bible, Christianity, and piety?? Whatever happened to the integrity of their so-called religion and faith in action?? Where is the showing of mercy to the stranger??
