After DACA Ruling, Biden Calls On Senate To Help Dreamers Using Budget Reconciliation | Talking Points Memo

Why not both? Isn’t America big enough to have both cruelty and crudity?

I know that Trump is not my cup of tea, but in the age of photographs and TV he’s got to be the ugliest person that was ever President. I always do a double-take when I see, well I can’t find the photo that I’m looking for, but it’s the one you can tell is photoshopped to Hell and back.
And he plays to the camera, I believe the official term is “mugging for the camera”. Someone should have knocked his block off for inflicting us daily with his ugly mug.

Another Federal judge from Texas.
Same place that caused all the Obamacare ruckus.
Maybe they should secede.
Then they’d get even more overrun by Mexicans!

All that happened before was the Supreme Court said the way Trump was trying to overturn it didn’t follow proper procedure.
Actually didn’t address the legality of Presidential action.

Nope - immigrants are ruining America because those immigrants took those jobs from real Americans.

Trust me - they can explain away just about everything we throw at them.

I thought their claim would be that immigrants are ruining America with science.

You know that our birth rate has dropped off, too. We NEED immigrants to keep our economy alive.

And, 600,000 dead, + countless avoidable deaths from Covid, all within the past year. America is a land of immigrants, founded by immigrants, built by immigrants, MADE BETTER WITH IMMIGRANTS! I am (we all are!) sick and tired of the self-entitled victims of low intellect who refuse to recognize America’s debt to immigrants.

I don’t think this is said often enough. With our declining birth rate, immigrants are necessary to keep the economy chugging and payroll deductions for Social Security and Medicare which so many in the aging population depend.

Exactly. Otherwise we’re Greece.

Biden does not behave like a person planning on failing with his agenda. And–importantly–this is not bluster at all.

It’s a side-message from his DACA announcement.

I vividly remember Sam Brownback encouraging high school girls to graduate and have lots of babies to keep social security chugging along during his 2nd-term campaign for US Senate. He said this was their duty, as Americans, to future generations.

Well, it hasn’t happened so Brownback was whistling in the wind.

Whistling? More like pissing into the wind.

Xenophobia is the lifeblood, the mother’s milk of the republican party. They feed it to their base to keep them energized. The ones who have figured out that the plutes won’t make them rich need something.

And it’s of a piece with the general keep-them-all-‘illegal’ scheme, which holds down wages for everybody, but boosts corporate profit.

Something must have gotten lost in translation because they were suppose to blind us with science.

“No it’s NOT! The Crudités is the point!”

And then embargo their oil. :smiling_imp:

Well we can look to Japan when a country has low birthrates. While China’s “one child” policy is biting them in the ass. Yes I know they rescinded that policy.
As for SS and Medicare this can’t be Republicans playing their long term plan? And I’d like to point out that with the wealth gap between the haves and the just barely haves, long term ability to keep these programs sustainable is going to be nigh impossible.
