Sinema is more deluded than crazy. Connor seems more crazy than deluded, at least from afar.
In addition to getting slapped with the vexatious litigant label (and its attendant legal consequences), she also got sanctioned hard by federal judge Robert Pittman, who I can attest is a damn fine judge. She ended up getting her rental property seized and auctioned off to pay the sanction.
I suspect the Dem voters of Travis County have figured out that they fucked up with this one. Things like this do happen from time to time in low-information judicial primaries.
FWIW, Abbott is going to win his primary with about 65% of the vote. Beto will be his opponent with low 90s/high 80s. Paxton’s probably gonna be in a runoff with Eva Guzman or George P. for AG, which means Louie Gohmert is unemployed 10 months from now. And my undisclosed friend is gonna be the Dem nominee for a statewide office that I’m absolutely not going to disclose either.
Sure, but there are no enforcement mechanisms: Abbot can get a law passed against high tides on the Texan shore and tax citizens to slap the Atlantic Ocean with lawsuits, but how will it work in practice?
Abbott is going to be personally responsible for some kid’s tragic breakdown
Abbott will seek to prosecute the parents - parents seeking to support their child… and the child will be destroyed with guilt & remorse … and be haunted by the thought that the parents are in trouble because of them …because the parents supported the child.
Way to be a bigoted Neanderthal.
When I was in Texas 52 years ago as part of the staff running The Oleo Strut coffeehouse in Killeen, we had a TXLawyer named Davis Bragg. He lived outside of town, and when you turned off the county road to his house, it seemed the “driveway” was about a mile long. I commented about that to him the first time we visited his home, to which he replied, “Yes, we’re out of range.” It doesn’t seem like much has changed, other than the asshole conservative LBJ Democrats are now asshole Republican morons.
