Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) appeared to signal support on Wednesday for Austin city officials’ push to move forward with additional enforcement measures that would ensure adherence to Abbott’s mandate on mask-wearing in public spaces.
I wonder how many Texans would still be alive if he had just allowed the cities to take these measures from the start? I wonder if people living under Republican regimes can sue the administrations for wrongful death?
Governor Ducey, do you have any comment? Governor Ducey?
Has anyone seen governor Ducey?
As a proud Arizonan I note we have rocketed up to number 5 now in the U.S. for cases per million population, with the 4 states above us having already had their spike and being on a downturn. I also note we have heat warnings out across the state and are supposed to hit 115 this weekend.
There is governmental immunity from suit for government decisions as a general rule. There are exceptions. There should be one for depraved indifference to human life.
His guilt complex must have kicked aside his Rump sniffing. Due diligence will lessen Abbot’s sense of responsibility for the death and long term pain of Texans.
Anyone seen any figures on how many have died because they waited until now to get serious?
I wonder if Kansas Republicans will try to sue the Governor again for her mask mandate, to force her to kill people?
She and the families of their victims should sue them in civil court for what they did.
Kansas Republicans have blood on their hands, and so does Abbott.
Iowa’s governor, Nebraska, too, South Dakota for sure.
Blood on their Republican hands. Anyone who flinches at the political label is probably one of them.
How many identifiable slam-dunk cases of criminal carelessness abound in this moment?
Count the ways.
All the backpedaling in the world can’t fix the mess they are in now, and people died for it.
Anything less than re-closing Texas is going to be inadequate. Texas is still on track for being the COVID-19 death capital of the U.S. and, if this continues, the world.
