Abbott’s DC Bus Gimmick Proving To Be Pretty Helpful For Migrants, Actually

A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) trying to pander to Trump’s base ahead as he seeks a third term in November make a serious point about the border by sending buses carrying migrants (who volunteered to go on the trips) to D.C., but it’s kind of blowing up in his face right now.

Man. If you plan on denying something, don’t sign your name to the thing you’re going to deny.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed legislation on Monday that would create an “Office of Election Crimes and Security,” an election fraud police force for investigating election fraud, despite there being zero evidence of massive election fraud.

Who ya gonna call?

I’d like to see a diagram showing the interconnections between these people, based on the text messages. Varies sizes of boxes/circles and line weights would show numbers of interactions, etc.

It could be interactive, so that you could click on the Meadows box and then have him at the center, or on the MTG box, with her at the center.

Anybody out there who could work on that?

Just saw on TV it’ll be 8 or 9 months until Musk has control of Twitter so I can breathe easy for awhile.

Georgia’s legislature passed a bill earlier this month that would empower the state’s bureau of investigations to probe voter fraud.

I’m fine with probing voter fraud; I am NOT fine with manufacturing it.

Sorry to say, but even that would be too ‘neat’. This whole thing is incestuous and I’m hoping it all comes clattering down like a house of cards.

Nothing for nothing. Musk will get something for restoring tfg’s Twitter tittie.

The antics of GOP governors like Rick DeSantis and Greg Abbot highlight the weird and dangerous asymmetry that Dems face. Liberals and Progressives see their ‘enemies’ as being social and economic problems and national security threats from bad foreign actors. Republicans view their enemies as being Dems and Progressives! The only valence that any issue has with them is the degree to which it helps them weaken or ‘own’ the libs. I often have the sense that Dem pols still haven’t got this…

One of the few bright political bright spots of the last few years was Mr. Trump losing his Twitter account. If he gets it back chaos will be unleashed.

Not too surprising. H finance types are saying Musk’ll likely be cutting the Twitter workforce by at least half.

MAGAland’s tired conspiracy theory claiming Dominion Voting Systems’ voting machines had rigged the election against Trump.

Fantastic look at close to ground zero of their “proof” of Venezuelan influence and vote switching.

The real eye-opener.

The staffers prepared an internal memo with section headings that read: “Dominion Has No Company Ties To Venezuela,” “Dominion And Smartmatic Terminated Their Contract In 2012” and “There Is No Evidence That Dominion Used Smartmatic’s Software In The 2020 Election Cycle.”

Limbaugh convinced them years ago that they were always right because the opposition Democrats and progressives were always wrong. It’s alloyed at this point.
