Gotta say this is the most positive, heartening Morning Memo I’ve seen yet. We have a Cuban immigrant saying hey thanks for the lift to D.C., that was a big help. And evidently D.C. is OK with it, seeing how to the extent that immigrants arriving there can benefit from various sorts of services to get them settled, they go ahead, more or less like adults do, and provide those services, since everyone is better off that way. Abbott was all grr see how you like it, having to deal with this plague of vermin, you big border-openers, and the city shrugs and says “whatever, we’re on it.” It’s a huge vindication of the argument for calm competence the Democrats embody. We deal with stuff. We handle it. It’s something Beto can talk about out on the stump. In short, it’s great. The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye.

Yeah, well, in planning for political persuasion efforts you take a triage approach. Some people are already on your side. Some will never be. So you talk rationally to the persuadable ones. Maga-morons gonna see things the way they see them. Not many sales to be made on that side of the street, so you work the other. Pretty simple really.
