I guess that means her filings were all frivolous and the courts in which she raised these claims would be acting appropriately if they took action against her, including referral to the appropriate state bar association to get her license pulled.

Does this

The public comments about the investigation risk jeopardizing the investigation and could taint the jury pool for cases that won’t likely come to trial for months.

plus

after Sherwin was contacted about the CBS interview, he had consulted with Justice Department leaders working under then-Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, who opted against giving him permission to take part

add up to (intentional) sabotage of the coming sedition and other cases??

I put absolutely nothing beyond the skullduggery and malfeasance of Trumpies…

Was she called out on this tactic at the time she was doing it? It was also Giuliani’s specialty, it seems to me.

This is the same asshole who worked to throw out the case against Flynn, so yeah, it looks like he may be trying to do exactly that.

Sorta figured that…really stinks.

We have the benefit of their incompetence, though. Plus the fact that he probably knew that if he went too far, he could be charged for a number of felonies.

Yes…he either has a large mouth and an ego that says ‘I do what I want’ which is typical for Trump appointees OR he is deliberately sabotaging anything “Biden” which is also di rigueur for Trumpers.

You mean the election fraud claims she pressed in state and federal court? If she’s admitting they’re bullshit, shouldn’t the courts be discussing disbarring her?

I was bothered by the way this guy was talking in his 60 Minutes interview and was relieved to hear he’s no longer in charge of the investigation. His words about sedition were the only time he wasn’t playing down most of the behavior in the capitol. He sounded like some fast talking, but ultimately incompetent Republican frankly.

Mission accomplished.

It doesn’t take a legal genius to understand that this was precisely the projected outcome.

You have to read her filing to see how she tries to dance around this obvious question.

Let’s just say Ginger Rogers had nothing on her.

And 60 Minutes went right ahead and aired the interview without contacting the DOJ. No. That does not stand for Department Of Journalism, who wasn’t contacted either.

I would not say so (yet).

Could just be that, for whatever reason, he wanted publicity for himself.

Of course, the GOP is not reasonable and therefore believed every word of it.

There is nothing in the law that defines a situation where a great percentage of the population has become wacked because of a continual stream of disinformation from the highest political sources.

Why wasn’t there a preemptive gag order on anyone working on or who had worked on or been privy to the details of these cases? There needs to be one now and it needs to be enforced with prejudice, harshly and swiftly.

It’s so obvious that this was an inside job with Capital and DC police, FBI, military, congressional & DoJ buy-in. Those people have to be arrested and tried along with the actual rioters and terrorists.

Given what he said–that Trump could be on the hook for criminal seditious conspiracy–I don’t see any organized nefarious plot to undermine the investigation and prosecution. Just garden variety lack of adherence to institutional procedures and professional norms. No 12 dimensional chess is being played here, people.
