A Tetchy Cornyn Shoves a Hand in the Camera when Pressed on His Filibuster Flip-Flop

SAVE Act Switcheroo In his latest act of self-debasement to win President Trump’s endorsement, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) on Wednesday penned a cringing op-ed in the New York Post in which he agreed to drop his longtime support for the Senate filibuster.  He professed that the change of heart was prompted by radical Democrats pledging…

The “Reverend Jim Jones” mandated his followers own just 1 pair of shoes, the same as his. It was later revealed that he owned 7 pair, one for each day of the week.

“Desperate people do desperate things.”

That they will resort to desperate acts to curry favor with Donnie is pretty damned pathetic (and desperate…..). :cowboy_hat_face:

You would think he would just privately get them exchanged for the correct size. I don’t think CF has them fitted with a transmitter. But then maybe Steve Miller does.

Trump is reportedly buying all the men in his circle ill-fitting dress shoes — and they’re “afraid” not to wear them.

The fear is such that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has apparently been donning a pair much too big for him.

MY recollection is that the 1st uses of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” was to call out those followers, supporters and sycophants that blindly believed anything Trump told them. The administration uses TDS to describe people that reflexively oppose Trump…maybe my recollection is wrong or maybe they just have flipped the script.

ANYWAYS, these men that are wearing ill fitting shoes to avoid Trump’s possible wrath is truly derangement. I mean even if that was a worry, they are apparently NOT custom shoes, so go buy a pair that effing fits, as @ladyfair pointed out.

WTAF?!? The most likely “explanation” to me is that Trump is doing this deliberately just to be able to laugh at all of them behind their backs. Rather than shooting someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it, he can provide them with a gift of “clown shoes” and they will actually wear them…IN PUBLIC

Next up, ill-fitting blue suits and mandatory way-too-long red ties.

Methinks the insufferable carnival barker missed his true calling of guessing peoples’ weight at county fairs. Or maybe just manning the Flavor Aid ladle. “Step right up!”

Oh, it’s a classic power move. Make them say things that are false (emperor has no clothes). Make them wear stupid shit.

We had a CEO who, soon after he started, changed the name of one plant location. It was called “Westport” and even things like servers and usernames had “WP" in their names. It was technically true that the mailing addres was “Maryland heights" but the same could be said of another plant. He also declared that plant shutdowns (every six months to do preventive maintenance) would hereafter be called “planned maintenance periods" because “shutdown” is so negative. Thats what TSF is doing here.

Re: Unanimous Consent
What is the deal here? Democrats ought to know – maybe they did! – that at least one Republican wouldn’t go along. Was that the point? To make Republicans kill a legitimate effort to fund the non-ICEy segments of DHS until the end of the FY?

Was that just some lame election year stunt? … And, in retrospect, what am I complaining about?

Re: Shoe Size
It’s long been an urban legend that shoe size corresponds to phallic length. I’m astounded that none of you genitalia-focused commenters have brought this up yet.

Sorry, I didn’t see those posts — I was reclining, and my absolutely enormous feet were blocking my view of my monitor.

That’s the main sign of America’s moral degeneracy - no civilized nation would accept the wearing of brown/tan shoes with a blue suit, but you people do it All. The. Time. Disgraceful

Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) blocked Murray’s request, making it clear the Senate GOP would rather continue the ongoing shutdown instead of funding some of the programs under DHS.

Remember the border security bill, back under Biden, the one that actually did something about the problem and was a bipartisan product, but then the patient got all mad because Biden and the Dems might get some of the credit?

More of the same here. No, we can’t fund most of DHS and ease the pain of air travel, and restore other essential services, because then how could we blame the Democrats for all the pain?

Narrow partisan advantage takes precedence over what’s good for America, time and time again. And the ZFE (gleefully stealing @sniffit’s coinage there) falls for it again and again.

So drearily predictable.

You just know all of those purchases went through the Cock-holster merch store and were then billed to various agencies (with a suitable markup, of course).

If we lived in a just society, there would be a large poster with Britt’s and Trump’s images at every TSA security check with the caption, “Thank Katie, Trump and their fellow Republicans for the pain and boredom you’re currently suffering. And look forward to higher air fares as the price of jet fuel skyrockets.” Unfortunately, airports are under federal control or, more accurately, under Trump control.
