“I want you to answer my question. Three times I’ve asked it. What did Donald Trump do that was ‘downright abhorrent’? It’s your words.” I asked
about his old tweets & writings, him criticizing Trump, and it got a little heated.
The whole interview is worth a watch.
Q: What does this country look like afterward?
A: A nation of laws.
Disqualification is written into the US Constitution for a purpose.
If TMFs crimes aren’t cause for disqualification-- what ever will?

Ron DeSantis’ Abortion Plan Sparks Widespread Ridicule (msn.com)
Republican presidential hopeful and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been ridiculed after suggesting that one way to reduce abortions is to force men to pay child support from the moment of conception.
“This is a great way to ensure that the Republicans never win a presidential election again,” author Eric Mrozek wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Paying for child support when the kid isn’t even born makes no f****** sense whatsoever.”
Rachel Lynn Bell wrote: “I’m so sure every man will LOVE this as much as women LOVE having their reproductive rights taken from them!!!”
even after eight years of Trump on the national political stage, a squeamishness about using all the tools at our disposal to protect the Republic from his authoritarian zeal. You saw it for years among elected Democrats, especially on the Hill.
David Frum has generally been a very reliable never-Trumper, but his article on invoking the insurrection clause that Morning Memo referred to, struck me as craven handwringing.
The sane people of this country cannot give up invoking legitimate legal tools to preserve democracy just because Republicans won’t like it.
Forcing men to pay child support from the moment of conception would open up a brand new world for litigation. Perhaps DeSantis could also implement a policy that allowed disbarred former TFG attorneys to practice law just for that purpose. It’s a win-win.
The Proud Boys didn’t have to take the plea deals. That shit-head Trump-appointed judge Timothy Kelly cut the requested sentences pretty much in half in any case.
The Democratic Pennsylvania senator John Fetterman directly dismissed Republican moves towards impeaching Joe Biden, saying doing so could end up hurting the GOP.
“Go ahead. Do it, I dare you,” Fetterman told reporters on Capitol Hill. “If you can find the votes, go ahead, because you’re going to lose. It’s a loser.
“It would just be like a big circle jerk on the fringe right.”
I saw something the other day that had a TFG supporter’s statement that if TFG lost the election because of the indictments it would be “the last election that was decided by the ballot instead of the bullet”, which suggests to me that no matter what happens, they will accept nothing short of a TFG win.
They will never accept anything other than complete and total domination for their guy.
When Trump says he has nothing to say, he’s fixing to confess for the next 20 minutes. So in some sense, he’s testifying in every trial, without the benefit of his lawyer leading him carefully through a series of prepared questions on the stand.
“It’s remarkable how quickly things are moving in Georgia, at least for now.”
