That’s hardly surprising. In the parts of the country cited in this item the Civil War did not end in 1865. It’s still going on.

Basically we have two parties.
One is committed to stealing your wallet, snatching your purse and selling off everything not tied down at the government they are supposed to run.
The other party would like to help those that want to build a better future.
It comes down to what people want to do.

I am sorry. I read the article and thinking I have been saying this for a long time now.
Go on the offensive and stop reacting. Stop being pushed into the defensive position. That is exactly where the Republicans want the Democrats. Stop letting them set the time and place and then control the narrative leading up to it and after. Expect this, walk past it, set the confrontation and shove it down their throats.
I hate the word bully, but for expediency, it is time to stand up to them. And that is just not our legislators and political leaders. At the individual level, it is time. You been holding on to that Trumpish family member, time to cut loose and tell them why. Trump flags on the pick up next to you, look them in the eye and give them the thumbs down. Co-workers are all MAGA, take your talents elsewhere and so on.

Had Carlson and his cohort attempted their revisionism 20 years ago, they would have encountered a chorus of contradiction from real people who had experienced the history they sought to rewrite and know where its conspiratorial calumnies lead. But today, most of those people are dead, and a new generation is rising that never witnessed the Holocaust firsthand or heard about it from family and friends who did.
Late last year, David Shor, one of the Democratic Party’s top data scientists, surveyed some 130,000 voters about whether they had a “favorable” or “unfavorable” opinion of Jewish people. Hardly anyone over the age of 70 said their view was unfavorable. More than a quarter of those under 25 did. The question is not whether America’s self-understanding is changing; it’s how far that change will go—and what the consequences will be.
Meanwhile, two of the books being removed from many schools’ libraries and classrooms, and sometimes from public libraries, are The Diary of Anne Frank and Lois Lowry’s Number the Stars.

When did trump ever in his life work in a lab? He is utterly clueless about vaccines, what they contain, how they’re made or developed in volume. Either old style or the RNA versions. He knows the words “vaccine”, RNA" and “covid”. That does not rate any sort of prize. I find the idea of any prize for him to be offensive… unless the prize is impeachment & a jail term

If any of the GOP decided to question RFK Jr.'s credentials and fitness for the job of HHS Secretary, they would have to question the same for all of the other cabinet secretaries. They don’t want to “die on that hill.”

Proposal: as we encourage students to visit museums to learn about the Holocaust, perhaps we should also take them to see the childrens’ section at the old cemetery in the middle of town. Perhaps as part of the math curriculum: they could practice their arithmetic as they work out the victims’ ages.
