My first vote was for George McGovern in 1972.

Against Richard Nixon

Four-plus months after the Watergate break-in.

Please tell me the Democrats have learned something about winning since then.

We just saw what the Republicans have learned.

Sanders will NOT be the nominee. That’s not me opening up a pie fight, that’s fact.

“All the way up until the end, a lot of people highly identified with his campaign were urging people to vote third party, urging people not to vote,”

Not slander but fact. His surrogates were encouraging people to vote for him or 3rd party no matter what. And here we are now. This isn’t a change election; this is a return to something resembling sanity election.

For the record, Sanders ended his campaign at exactly the same point Clinton did vs. Obama in 08–after Calif primary— and the vitriol between Clinton and Obama during the campaign was intense. Clinton even used disguised racism when she campaigned in Pa. it’s only because Obama won that her actions were forgotten, but that outcome could have not been known in advance. What we do know is that Sanders campaigned tirelessly for Clinton after his defeat.
Meanwhile, the fact is that more or less exactly the same proportion of Clinton voters voted for McCain as went Sanders-Trump…about 10 pct. Analysis of who these people were shows them to be right wing lifeling registered Dems who always vote GOP for Prez. So called Regan Dems or souther white Dems or W. Virginia ones who go Manchin-Trump.

And then there’s those of us who feel the same about Bernie.

Why? Why can’t Saint Bernard go the fuck AWAY and enjoy his cabin by the lake that he purchased with all those $27 sucker donations? The former SoS had way more votes than he could ever garner.

Why should she go away?

Look, I voted for Hillary in '16. I still think she would be a superb president. But . . . just shut the hell UP! She’s a lightning rod, and all she’s doing is sowing dissension. She isn’t helping anyone or anything with this kind of crap.

I get she doesn’t like Bernie, and I understand her reasons. But every time she sticks her head up, everyone goes nuts. Give it a rest. Defeating Trump is the goal here, not airing grievances.

My heart sank last year when I heard that Sanders was planning to run again, because I knew this would set us up for a repeat of 2016, and sure enough…

Sanders would have done the country and progressive causes a huge favor by staying out of this one. HRC was smart enough not to run - now she should keep her mouth shut.

Mrs. Clinton has been publicly brutalized for decades.

Republicans slandered her for Whitewater (nothing illegal), for the “murder” of Vince Foster, for not divorcing Bill, for having an ugly daughter (she has a beautiful daughter), for her email, for an embassy, for a pizza parlor…

For having to justify her credentials against a treasonous grifter.

She has an incredible amount of pain and frustration. Are you pissed about the last couple of weeks in the Senate? Multiply that by thirty years.

Mrs. Clinton deserves compassion and empathy. Is there any left in this country?

Actually, this isn’t about airing grievances. It’s about recognizing where we are as a country and how to fight for whatever remains of what’s best of it. I do not have a problem with her speaking up now and I just wish her campaign had unloaded on him in '16. Her supporters need to see that she’s still fighting for the country and for the Dem Party. This ain’t “grievances”. She has every right to sound off.

ETA: people like you insist that Dems need to speak out in hopes of showing people what’s wrong about the current situation in our country. That’s what she’s doing but somehow you people are interpreting it as “grievances.”

Does anyone know who is running against Tlaib, Omar and Jayapal in November?
I’d like to send their opponents a little check.

As the non-Bernie supporter mother of a daughter who supports Bernie, I can tell you that these attacks only strengthen his followers’ passion for him. (Sound familiar?) Just an observation. And don’t tell me to argue with her; I have.

If Sanders gets the nomination, I plan to support him in the same manner as he supported Hillary.

For those who haven’t noticed what happened when CNN tried to start a fight Between Sanders and Warren and again when Biden tried to attack Bernie: This is helping Boost Sanders in the polls.

Look for yourself. He’s done nothing but go up as the attacks have intensified.

I hope Clinton continues her selfish bitter grapes tour.

I ask, how is this going to help us? It said she was interviewed for an upcoming documentary. I understand how she must hate him, but is speaking out now going to help us get to where we need to be for the upcoming election?
I don’t want Sanders for the office, but Clinton needs to back off.

I only hope that I can remember how to spell “Harambe” correctly.
