Discussion: Trump: There's A 'Chance' We'll Have 'Major, Major Conflict With North Korea'

I think “lackey ass-kisser, must be extremely loyal, ability to speak in full sentences a plus!” were the only qualifications needed to make it onto team trump.

Surly you are trying to be sarcastic with your silly comment on Republicans getting criticized for as you call it, ‘cashing in’ on there service, You do remember don’t you that the very first Former President to do be paid a large sum of money for giving a speech was when Ronald Reagan was paid $1.000,000,000 for giving a single speech in Japan and $2,000,000,000 for his 8 day trip to that country.

Ronnie established the precedent and it is now a bit late to whine about it. As another Republican H.R. Halderman said, “It is hard to put the toothpaste back into the tube.”

This is hyperbole, right ? 1 million is 1,000,000.

What does “making sense” have to do with trump’s mal-administration? They spend all their time shooting out chaff to cover their unqualifiedness, ethics violations, and outright crimes. Sense is a word seemingly only applicable to Dems.

Oh god, stop it! You’re making too much sense! That sounds like something a SMART person would say

Seriously, tho, I was talking yesterday with someone about this very thing, namely, A grand decades-long effort by GOP to subvert and degrade education. Mostly I agree with this, but then it occurred to me…many of the people who were conned by the con-man in chief are over 50 and would would have gone through the educational system when it was arguably at its zenith! And yet…they voted for Trump.

One huge contributing factor to this is the Fox News phenomenon. It has corroded people’s thinking and turned them against ‘experts’ and ‘facts’ and ‘information’ and science, etc. I know it’s ‘preaching to the choir’ here in the hive, but I don’t think you can underestimate the effects of Fox Propaganda for the last 20 years.

BBWWWWWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Well played, leeks. Well played.

Can’t remember the source, know it’s Brit, but they said one of the only positives about a thermonuclear conflict is when Secret Service said it was time to get into the bunker Donald would head to the nearest sand trap (I’m not a golfer so sand trap might be the specific location they mentioned).

Don’t count on it. Any smart person around him would get the hell out of there, PDQ.

I criticized Reagan. Just because he whored himself out doesn’t mean others have to follow.

I suppose he thinks the reporters are seeing this for the first time …

I bet he keeps a stash of them in his bedside stand to admire when he’s feeling low.

Tweeting from his wherever.

Yes, I was watching that, and Maddow did seem a little rattled. She claimed that Kim Jung Un would definitely interpret this as a deliberate provocation.

Is no one putting a muzzle on this moron?

I’m really glad he dragged all the senators up there yesterday and confused the hell out of them. I know very well they left that meeting and were privately asking each other what the fuck they were going to do with this absurd excuse for an Executive.

And @steviedee111 - there is always hope. That’s what hope is.

It gets tricky when they actually have to let him out in the wild, talking to a reporter without a teleprompter. Who knows what he’ll blurt out? The staff must be biting their nails with every question, and when he blows it, they must scramble into damage control mode, distributing the talking points that “explain what he really meant.”

Of course the only problem with that is the world…and therefore the decisions a President faces…are not simple.

Who cares about all that. It’s for-profit!

And of course, as we have seen countless times before…even that is a risky business. Because if they contradict Trump, it only encourages him to get on twitter or in front of the cameras and throw whoever is on clean up detail under the bus as he doubles down on what he originally screwed up.

Working for someone like Trump…there just aren’t any “good” solutions. His NPD will force you to accept his world view, or suffer grave consequences for resisting. He alternates between micromanaging (mostly concerning “image”), and blowing important things off. His temper is mercurial, and the slightest thing will set him off (particularly if he perceives as cause for a grievance). I could go on, but the bottom line is, he is a neverending mess of personality problems, all of which are impossible to deal with, but blend together to make him uniquely unqualified for his current job. Its like hiring someone with no arms and telling them to go bat clean up. They simply can’t do the job, and it will come as no surprise that they actually hate it.
