Discussion: GOP Virginia Rep.: Democratic Win In Virginia Was 'Referendum' On Trump

Define, please, “truly disastrous” in a way that does not include the Lying Orange Shit-Stain sitting behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. From where I’m sitting, that looks pretty darned disastrous.

That said, I can’t disagree with your reasoning… but I’m hoping that the Orange Urine-Stain ends up sticking to all the Repugnatcans.

A truly disastrous confluence of events

I rather think last night was a truly disastrous confluence of events for the GOP.

Oh - and did people notice the Democratic Socialist who won up in Manassas? He did not take a dime from anyone - including the Democrats. That’s the other great story about last night - all of the money spent on lies and filth came to naught.

Whoops - he did take some money from the Party … but not much. AND he defeated the VA House whip.

“Get down, stay down!” is what F/A’s shout at passengers, and it could just as easily be what the voting public is saying to Rs in general and to this administration specifically.

Dear Special Counsel Mueller.

Tomorrow or Friday would be a really nice time to unseal some more indictments.

Thank you in advance.

That is really cool. Talk about pointing the direction we’re headed - that sure does.

The Washington Post blurb of the article said that. I jes posted the link…

" I didnt say that. Did I say that? It’s so funny you should think that I said that…" .Nathan Thurm

But yes, you are absolutely correct. I have been trying to get news all day of the ongoing counts or recounts.

You and I both know the feeling. Election nights in Houston and Dallas where the entire frikkin county flipped.

Yeah I have been saying it feels like '06. And it does. But kind of on steroids on account of the GOP jumping ship here.

The only people less prepared than Rs for a thumping were Democrats, and we shouldn’t have been. People had waited a year to tell him how disgusted and hated he and the party he occasionally calls his are. R with a brain says

“Voters are taking their anger out at the president, and the only way they can do that is by going after Republicans on the ballot,” said Representative Charlie Dent, Republican of Pennsylvania. “If this isn’t a wake-up call, I don’t know what is.”

The Democrats’ gains were deep and broad, signaling profound alienation from the Republican Party among the sort of upscale moderates who were once a pillar of their coalition.

Honestly I’ve been expecting this since January 21st. It just gets difficult over time to hang onto one’s belief when we are bombarded daily with the kinds of insanity we’ve been hit with.

You can save some schadenfreude for later by pressing it in a book between sheets of acid-free tissue. While you are at it you might want to use some of that blotter acid you left there 30 years ago.

Ryan thinks the election results mean only the Rs have to double down on Cut, Cut, Cut.

…as he hummed “It’s Now or Never.”

True, they’re deader, if that’s possible, than they are now. But Flake and Heinrich, NM-D, are going to try to resuscitate by offering a gun bill.

They might resuscitate, but then the corpses go straight into internecine warfare.

Well well. Let’s see what their GOP colleagues do with that piece of legislation.
