Discussion: GOP Sen.: Fund Clinics With 'Legitimate' Care, Not Planned Parenthood (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #241228

Forced Birther clinics do not provide the same care or education that Planned Parenthood provides. The GOP are now picking and chosing health care providers - while they whined when ACA did exactly that…obvious hypocrites.

“deeply disturbing videos exposing their practice of selling the fetal tissue of babies who are aborted.”

Except they don’t. Those videos proved nothing whatsoever. They insinuated a whole bunch and perhaps constitute an accusation, but they “proved” nothing.

So…there’s “illegitimate” women’s health care?
Please proceed, Senator.

Well…yeah.

They sure get in line don’t they. Fuckers!!!

Do these people deliberately apply cement to their heads?

Says the fool that, as George W. Bush’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget, administered policies that gave rise to the greatest economic catastrophe since the Great Depression.

I wonder if these clinics, that he suggests funding, will only deal with “legitimate rapes”? Is that what Portman means by “legitimate care”?

No wonder this dope is trailing in the polls. Come November 2016, Ohioans will be able to elect a legitimate Senator to represent them.

Just once during a prominent, national interview with a GOP rep I’d like a news person to look’em in the eye and say “Abortion is a legal medical procedure in the United States. How is taking steps to reduce access or deny it to people any different than denying them access to an appendectomy or a gall bladder removal? It’s legal.” Legal is legal. There aren’t degrees of legality. This isn’t a gray area. WTF?

You know, I really believe the bio-tech and medical research industries here in America–and there are many–really should step up to the national mic and offer their take on this issue. Seriously. American Medical Association? Where the hell are the many of you guys?

If it’s not legitimate care, Congress has a way of shutting the whole thing down.

There are more big dicks in the Republican Party than the entire Falcon Video output of the last 25 years.

Oh, and I so love the big ones! Oh, wait …

Perhaps the government should stop funding access to Viagra and other ED medications. Would save millions of dollars (in cost of prescriptions to Congress, alone) that could be spent on legitimate men’s health care.

And would cut down the chance of old putz’s getting their girlfriend pregnant.

And even that I think is giving them too much credit. The videos showed a professional calmly discussing aspects of her profession which - to somebody outside of that profession - may be somewhat disturbing. Completely legal, but disturbing.

The truth* is, the whackjobs are upset that not everybody wails and gnashes their teeth when discussing abortions generally, or the very specific (and somewhat disturbing) technical realities of performing them. “Oh you soulless monster! Why don’t you weep FOR THE CHILDREN YOU MURDERED?!”

I so wish a reporter - or all the reporters - would ask them this: “Every year, millions of embryos are intentionally created for infertility treatments and millions of them are intentionally tossed into incinerators. Where is your outrage over these ‘unborn children’ that were created with full knowledge that the majority of them would be destroyed?”

*The truth truth is that none of them give a single fuck about “the murdered children”. They just want to keep those slutty, sex-having women under control. Except when they skip out on their wives for a little strange.

these lying fucking assholes… if only there was a journalist who would press these men on just what clinics are out there accepting tens of thousands of medicare/medicaid patients… and, no, the opthamologists/dentists/dermatologists they deceptively included in the ‘thousands’ of clinics nationwide that could replace those planned parenthood services, are not acceptable alternatives.

When the issue went to court, Jindal’s administration provided a list of more than 2,000 other places where Planned Parenthood’s patients could get care.

“It strikes me as extremely odd that you have a dermatologist, an audiologist, a dentist who are billing for family planning services,” responded the judge.

Whoops. It appeared that the list-makers had overestimated a tad, and the number of alternate providers was actually more like 29. None of which had the capacity to take on a flood of additional patients.

The government doesnt just hand money to PP as its being portrayed. The get reimbursed by medicaid for seeing patients…Where is the LIBERAL media in all of this and allowing these lies to be spewed as facts?

So what illegitimate care is PP providing, Senator?

Cancer screenings? STI/UTI testing? Prenatal care? Anemia, Cholesterol and Diabetes screenings? Vaccines and tetanus? Counseling? Because PP does ALL of this.

Just so we know what the GOP cretin crew is considering legitimate versus illegitimate care. And especially since you already don’t fund abortion via the Hyde Amendment, so you’ve “defunded” that aspect of PP care since 1976.

Appears the President dodged a bullet when you decided you wanted to go back to the senate and be a douchepaddle instead of serving your country.

What’s annoying is that the Senator is clearly just confused about how all this works. Conservatives act like Planned Parenthood is just given a bunch of money to stay open, and that if the money went elsewhere, women could go somewhere else to get care. In fact, their general theory is that women could actually get healthcare more easily if the money went to a community clinic instead of Planned Parenthood. I debated such a person yesterday, who was insisting that PP shouldn’t get the money because there aren’t any clinics in her neighborhood.

But of course, in reality, Planned Parenthood isn’t getting this money because the government chooses to support them. They get the money because these are the places where women choose to get healthcare, and Planned Parenthood is being paid for the services provided. And this doofus Senator has to be a special level of dumb to not know that by now.

But as with all Republicans, they’re required to ignore reality and keep hyping the same wrong talking points because that’s all they’ve got. If this guy acknowledged that PP gets this money because it’s where patients prefer to go, he’d be drummed out of the party and made enemy #1. So instead, he promotes this bogus legislation with lies, because reality refuses to play along with their demands. So he can act like he’s just trying to help women, when he’s just trying to limit their choices because he wants to impress voters who don’t like abortion.

And the biggest problem with the GOP is that the politicians haven’t been in charge in a long time, and are just following the dictates of Fox News, talk radio, and billionaires who only benefit by denying reality. But it just makes it that much harder to be a Republican, since you still need to have something to say even when you’ve got nothing.

WHat a profile in courage portman, won’t stand up to the rwnj in your party and won’t stand with them either. Trying to have it both ways will get you what you deserve…nothing. THis guy is just proof as to why the gop has gone round the bend, no guts, no principles, just…nothing.
