Discussion: Dem Rep. Responds To Kelly's Claims About 2015 Event: 'That's A Lie'

You go girl! Keep speaking truth to power!

We need more courageous individuals like Wilson to keep speaking up. Hopefully this is a big enough issue that she will be able to present her side of the story on the Sunday news shows.

NB: The 2015 building issue is a red herring. Stay focused on Trump and his conversation. The fact that he lied by saying the phone call conversation was a complete fabrication. That is the big lie.

Deservedly so. There’s no excuse for them – they all know what a muther-fucking low-life jerk Trump is

And that´s just in the Commerce Dept.

You should see the bathroom in the State Dept.

So, Rep. Wilson is an “empty barrel” for giving a speech to the FBI and talking about her role in the naming of the building.

Question for Gen. Kelly: What if a guy goes to the CIA and gives a speech about his electoral college victory, his crowd sizes, and how the whole audience probably voted for him? Would that make that guy an “empty barrel”?

I guess we should get used to this. Black’s will not be allowed to voice their opinions in Trump’s America. If they wish to speak out about disparate treatment by Law Enforcement that will be taken out of their mouths and they’ll be quoted as speaking out against the Flag and the Military. If they wish to say their lives matter that will be taken out of their mouths and replaced with the lives of the Police matter. And in this case if they wish to point out how crass and boorish our President is that will be replaced with how crass they were to “eavesdrop” on the Presidents boorish words. This seems to be working so expect more.

Kelly’s in the news all the time now. Right here on TPM he gets daily mentions. Everyone of those mentions brings up his past, his service and his patriotism. But that is who he was. What he’s become is what we’re dealing with today. He’s a partisan and the prop that keeps Trump up. He’s there to keep Trump and his policies alive. He’s an extension of Trump. That’s who he is today. That’s why he manipulated the La David issue ( something no ex-soldier still driven by that experience would do ) and chastised a member of Congress on largely false lines. That’s who Gen. Kelly is today. He doesn’t deserve to be shielded by his honorable but irrelevant past.

Are you saying they all “knew what [they] signed up for?!?

Its rather disappointing that the CoS can make a speech with such a blatant lie, and nobody in the press even dares to challenge it, until the Rep. Wilson steps up to point how that, not only was untrue, it couldn’t be true since she was even in Congress.

And then when she does, its presented as a case of “he said/she said”. Its not. The MSM across the board needs to step up and repudiate every.single.lie that this administration utters, in the clearest of terms.

Some reporter should have stood up right then and said “Mr. Kelly, Represtenative Wilson wasn’t even in office when the funding for this building was appropriated. She wasn’t even in office when the building was built. She merely authored a bill to name the building after two fallen FBI officers, at the behest of the FBI Director. So why are you lying about it now?”

And House Republicans can be heard mutter “How come a newbie Democrat got to name a new Federal building while we for most of the previous 8 years only got to rename Post Offices for dead soldiers from our district?”

Trump: I now like Kelly. No need to fire that old senile man.

Well when you sell your soul to the Devil, you sell your soul to the Devil.

So the only question is whether John Kelly was a lying, scum-sucking, motherfucking, racist bastard before he started working for Trump, or only became one after working for Trump…

In other words, they knew what they signed up for…

The press will not come to our rescue. The constitution will not come to our rescue. I am very pessimistic about our future and the survival of democracy.

Kelly is a disgrace. He may have fooled enough of the press to get away with this for now (some of the puffery at the networks is just disgusting, as is that at least one major East Coast newspaper whose posh hereditary owner helped get Donald elected last year by going after Hillary 24/7).

Kelly is going to have to live with the fact that despite all his honorable claims about not want to invoke the death of his son for political purposes, in the end that’s precisely what he did. He exploited his own child’s death to create a propaganda smokescreen for this floundering administration, and he did it cheaply, nastily, rolling in the boy’s death with this talk-radio style attack on Representative Wilson.

Meanwhile Representative Wilson—now flooded with death threats, all of them toxic, some of them credible, which is a fate that befalls all of Donald’s critics nowadays----shows genuine courage by refusing to be intimidated or silenced. Hope she continues to stand tall.

Kelly’s tirade revealed a big part of who he really is. And this tweet that he sent about 20 minutes ago about the Russia/uranium issue is also revealing:

“Bill Clinton asked permission to sell Uranium to Russia. Too bad he didn’t ask 4 permission from his interns b4 he proceeded to rape them.”

Far from me to ever defend Bill Clinton for his affair with Monica Lewinsky, but it’s a stretch to say the guy raped multiple interns or had sex with multiple interns without consent. More to the point, though, it reinforces the picture that has now come to light of Kelly as a bitter, hateful guy who would like to live in a Golden Age where traditional values ruled.

Right on target. I would “like” this 100 times if I could. He deserves to be slapped down by Frederica Wilson on his nasty words and lies, including the one about the building. (No, I don’t think it’s a distraction. Anything that shows Kelly will lie to attack a person – especially a woman of color – who challenges him.)

How dare he attack her for being in the car when Trump’s call played on a speaker phone? The family wanted her to be there. She was a family friend who had mentored La David Johnson. Just whose privacy was Kelly trying to protect, La David’s widow or his boss’? And if it’s so dreadful to listen to a conversation between the preznit and a grieving widow, why was Kelly in the room, presumably unannounced, listening in on the call? Hypocrites a****le.
