Animal Farm, perhaps?

The year before, they got off cheap. Laura only charged $50,000 to appear.

Regarding W’s speech, much more is clear

Speaking and traveling fees for the former President were paid by the charity, but the amount was underwritten by a private donor, the charity’s lawyer told ABC News.

The anonymous donor donated the money to the charity, got a tax deduction, and the money was earmarked. Win-win for Oedipus Tex and the donor.

As expected, the GOP is too short-sighted for their own good when it comes to running a country for the future. Right now we can’t even employ everyone, let alone employ them full-time. As automation and AI begin replacing not just blue-collar/labor types of jobs but white-collar/management/research jobs (or begin replacing much of the hours required to do those jobs) there will be even less need for longer hours. If Bush had put any thought into this, he would realize that 20 years from now, people will likely be working far far less and unless the government starts planning on 20 or even 10 hour work weeks and some sort of basic income to support everyone, incredibly short-sighted decision makers like Jeb Bush will do nothing but further damage this country.

I’m beginning to think Bush isn’t in it to win it. Next thing you know he’ll propose outlawing mac n’ cheese just to make sure he offends everyone.

This is when the democrats must go on the attack and define
Jeb instead of their usual crickets

Can he even hear himself?

Know how you feel. Misread an email at work this afternoon, booked a flight to and made hotel reservations in the wrong frikkin city for an upcoming trip.

Jeb’s in a 20th century mindset.

More hours for the serfs= more dollars for the serf owners.

It’s bothered me since the economic melt down in 2007-8, if not before then, that very little if anything has been done to get some income to the middle class and poor folk. The republicans have sold their souls to the 1% for their cash to run campaigns and could care less about anyone else. The middle class and those at the bottom are the ones who do the heavy lifting in this country. They deserve to get a decent livable wage for their efforts. The republican candidates know this and still don’t give a shit.

As long as you caught it it didn’t happen. Old journalist saying: “Anybody can make a mistake. Just don’t let it run in the paper.”

The “longer hours” comment was in reference to the historically low labor force participation rates the United States has seen in the aftermath of the 2008 economic crisis.

Once again.

Almost half of the decline in the U.S. labor force participation rate (LFPR) since its peak in 2000 is due to long-running demographic patterns, such as the retirement of baby boomers. These patterns are expected to continue, offsetting LFPR improvements due to economic recovery.

Great Ideas of Western Man.

The usual blame it on Democrats for what Bush said. The man just said that Americans should work LONGER hours. Hard working Americans, in his mind, don’t work enough! ? Good god.

so says undeserving multi millionaire…maybe consider re jiggering tax laws to help out the middle class who enabled the like of your sorry ass…

It is so helpful when the entitled accidentally tell us what they really think of we common folk. Like, we don’t work enough.

Yes, that is what is wrong with the economy. American workers are lazy.
