Zeldin: ‘Heck No’ On Trump Testimony | Talking Points Memo

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) is a hard no on the idea of President Trump testifying in the impeachment inquiry.

Has there been screaming? How come the screaming hasn’t been reported on?

The only screaming I have heard has come from Republicans complaining about having to follow the rules adopted from the template of prior rules put in place by a Republican majority.

Heck No on vaping ban?

Heck No on Trump lying, I mean, testifying?

All smoke and mirrors…

When did “he has nothing to hide” become the go-to justification for refusing to disclose anything? Was there a memo? Did I miss that?

Below Shiff’s level would equate to anywhere below the height of the troposphere…

Oh please, please, please let him testify in person on live tv. Is that too much to ask?

Trump has lied about almost everything. The WaPo Fact Checker is close to 14,00 lies. So of course his supporters don’t want him to add Perjury to the Impeachment list.

There was a lot of Dems screaming at Bill Barr after his Federalist Society standing ovation speech.
But I guess Zeldin was talking about something else.

Barr criticized Democrats for launching a “holy war” and using “any means necessary to gain momentary advantage,” while he said conservatives “tend to have more scruple over their political tactics and rarely feel that the ends justify the means.”

The opportunity for getting caught in the lies is entirely too great for him to show up and testify under oath. If he’s been caught in lies in the Mueller testimony, that’s a pretty good sign that he’d be no better in an impeachment hearing.

Trump can’t control the narrative if he gets in front of anyone. I agree with the honorable fool from NY - Trump can’t do it. Period.

@losamigos, I don’t drink nearly enough to accept as truth anything Barr has to say. His legacy is gonna be so ugly, it may get written out of the history books.

Zeldin knows the entire Republican scam falls apart if Trump is ever legally forced to tell the truth in front of the American people. So it’s more Gaslighting, Obstruction and Projection.

What a complete embarrassment for his district. History will remember Zeldin very poorly, if at all.

Not sure if he’s been in office all that long but he’s simply not the face of any great movement within the GOP. He’s just another one in lockstep with the general party mantras that Trump can never do any wrong.

He’ll be back to his farm or business on Long Island after 2020 elections. No problem.

Another whole cloth fabricator heard from. Long Island has almost as many problems as Staten Island when it comes to the creatures they choose to elect.

And he’s got some nerve talking about Schiff’s “level.” Zeldin is one who wouldn’t be worthy enough to carry Shiff’s shoes.

What this jackass meant to say is, “tRump could say just about anything, and then where would we be? We can’t risk that!”

“the staunch Trump ally”

So, really, nothing newsworthy in this at all. Why give them any attention?

  1. Republicans always project.
  2. Republicans say no means yes.
  3. Therefore when a Republcan House Rep. say “Heck No” what he really means is, “Hell Yeah!”

Quod Erat Demonstratum

That is either gobsmackingly self-deluded or gobsmackingly disingenuous.
