Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thx! I have 3 (5 if you include all books in the trilogy) in mind to pick up soon.
Angela’s Ashes–surviving through all sorts of adversity and still come out full of hope
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy–for many of the same reasons outlined for the main page trilogy
The Art of Racing in the Rain
Thanks! Many of these look good, and will be added to my (endless) list. May I also suggest the entire Expanse series, the nine books (Leviathan Wakes etc) and associated novellas and short stories? The series is now complete, so don’t worry about the “A Song of Ice & Fire” wait for the endings.
A short list:
The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction.
A longer list (100 or so books) is certainly possible, but this is what perks to the top right now.
This Is How You Lose the Time War is great, although it was a little opaque at first. I don’t think I understood everything that went on until the second reading. It’s still one of the best sci-fi books I’ve read recently, and packs a lot into a relatively small number of pages. A nice break from the more long-winded books and series.
On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder
