Ye 2024 Devolves Into Brawl As Lawyers, Far-Right Figures Claim Control

One of the biggest potential spoiler candidates in next year’s presidential race is having trouble getting his 2024 campaign off the ground. Various teams of lawyers, far-right provocateurs, and seemingly random entrants with an interest are vying for control of his 2020 presidential committee, which still has unfinished business.

I finally surrendered halfway through the article when I read, “This is where it gets weirder.”

One of the biggest potential spoiler candidates…

I stopped reading there.

he’s spent much of the past year paling around with Yiannopoulos and Fuentes

Paling around? Is that what it’s called when Ye is wearing this?

Yiannopoulos charging the Kanye 2020 committee $9,955 for the “domain transfer.”

How to say “I’m structuring payments to avoid money laundering inquiries” without actually saying it. (Transfer is a set of web forms that would take an experience person 10-20 minutes to fill out.)

“industrial scale fraud,” oh really? As right-wing grifters go, these guys are pikers: A few hundred thou here, a few there, a grifter like Trump wouldn’t even consider that pocket pickings; wake me up when these punks pass the 100MM mark.

ETA: Even Right-wing second-stringers like Milo Yiannopoulos, Nick Fuentes et al have become reasonably accomplished snake oil salespersons and, while they may squabble with each other over the loot, if you squint it’s still possible to imagine they have convinced themselves, with some justification, that their bullshit is gold.

... it’s not really useful, or possible, to specify a break point where the money game ends and the ideological one begins. They are two facets of the same coin—where the con selling 23-cent miracle cures for heart disease inches inexorably into the one selling miniscule marginal tax rates as the miracle cure for the nation itself. The proof is in the pitches—the come-ons in which the ideological and the transactional share the exact same vocabulary, moral claims, and cast of heroes and villains. – Rick Perlstein (November, 2012)

Ah crap. I look forward to as many shit-shows as possible on the part of the army of stupid. I won’t count him out yet because it’s this very special guy, but there’s a chance we’ll miss out on some great comedy.

I’m wondering if that “long illness” was a “window related” accident… cuz it’s a long drop from a 7th floor somewhere.

he has a chance to more fully inhabit the role that many in MAGAworld saw him playing in 2020: chipping away at the thin, swing-state margins

How many votes did he get? Didn’t seem to hurt President Biden much.

Giving TFG a run for his money in hiring “the best people”.

I don’t want to take this lightly, but Ye no longer has the star power he did of just a few years ago. A deeply disturbed person who needs therapy.

Well that would be long enough to “come to terms” with one’s self on the way down.
I have no sympathy for the Russian military or the country’s leadership.

I’m all for Ye staffing his campaign with grifters and drama queens.
The sooner it rots on the vine, the better for all concerned.

As long as Ye drags votes from trump. Mebbe RFK Jr can take up the slack in stealing trump votes…

Won’t Ye attract the same stupid and low-information voters that Trump needs in the swing states?

This is really disappointing. I was so sure we would have a President Kanye Omari West. Oh well…
