So arrest Rick Perry. Somebody. Please.

“Hochstein told the investigation that former Energy Secretary Rick Perry “inappropriately pressured the Ukrainian government” to place a Houston-based businessman named Robert Bensch on the board of Naftogaz, while other DOE officials pressed Kyiv to sign an agreement with a “private business entity connected to Mr. Bensh,” the letter reads.”

Gotta love this:

"“Senate Republicans released the resulting report Wednesday morning, noting that “the extent to which Hunter Biden’s role on Burisma’s board affected U.S. policy toward Ukraine is not clear.””

It’s ‘not clear’ because there’s literally no evidence of this happening at all. It’s sort of like saying “The extent to which Trump’s speeches affect the tides of the ocean is not clear”. It’s the BEST kind of useless weasel statement.

The risks one runs when one insists on investigating one’s enemies for crimes of which one’s own self is guilty.

Or at least indict the SOB for chrisakes!

There really is no bottom with these Repuglicans: venal corruption, fraud, crassness, hypocrisy, all of it forever and all of it lower than before; it’s just turtles all the way down.

ETA: Can’t pass up a post on the venal corruption of Perry without a flashback to the sorely missed Molly Ivins; e.g.,

This, in turn, brings up the interesting role of coincidence in the life of Gov. Goodhair. Last summer, the Guv appointed an Enron executive to the state’s Public Utilities Commission and, the next day, Perry got a check for $25,000 from Ken Lay. He explained this, to everyone’s satisfaction, as being “totally coincidental.”

Damn it, seems like every time someone scrapes the dirt with their toe, another body turns up. We really need to do a better job of burying them.

Impossible to do. “Stupid is as stupid does,” and that sums up Rick Perry.
