A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo. Sign up for the email version. He Took The Easy Wray Out It’d be a little precious for me to sit here at my keyboard and proclaim that FBI Director Chris Wray should have made Donald Trump go through the process…
Wray could have said, “You will have to fire me for cause”, but he is just walking away, normalizing the felon’s shady-as-hell behavior.

“But rather because we need some real-world models for how to conduct ourselves in this unprecedented new period of history.”
Yes. Just don’t expect to find them in the FBI. Or among Republican officeholders.
An abject, unconditional surrender is an abject, unconditional surrender.
If you don’t fight, you don’t care about the FBI, or the future of this country.
And me thinking that law enforcement had just thrown their hands up.
Hey cops: It was the GOP that threw every madhouse patient onto the streets, the GOP who made sure every one of them has access to a gun, and if the GOP ever let the rich be taxed, it would be a Democrat that gave you a raise out of it.
Hopelessly racist, endlessly enraged. The PD-GOP continuum.

Of course Ford hasn’t considered that there are long term contracts involved.
I agree with everything you just posted, included your image.
Voice Of America… sigh… My property here in Punta Gorda Belize is on VOA Road, after a now silent Voice Of America broadcasting site about a mile past my house. It’s since been sold but considering the tall concrete walls topped with razor wire I suspect there was more going on there than radio broadcasts. It dates back to Saint Ronnie and the Sandinistas in Nicaragua and I figure it was a CIA cover. Might of been worth looking into at one time but with things going to hell why bother.
"It’s impossible to guarantee that if Wray had forced the issue it would have raised national awareness of Trump’s corruption, cost Trump politically, put Republican senators in more of an awkward bind over Kash Patel’s nomination for FBI director, and generally made the MAGA GOP pay down political capital on this fight that it then wouldn’t have available to use elsewhere.
But it’s guaranteed now that none of those things will happen."
… … … … …
Remember … Wray is a republican.
But what if the Canadians were really, really polite about it?
“Sorry aboot that, we are experiencing some technical difficulties…”
I do not think we are a banana republic as of yet, despite the GQP’s insistence that all dems are on the dole, so to speak. But Wray’s departure sure seems to move the narrative along. Is it possible to just take a mulligan on the 2024 election and redo it so the sane people win? TCF hasn’t even taken office yet and he’s already leaving his stench on our nation.
Get ready for a rocky ride if the FBI is headed by Kash Patel.

I would have argued that it was already corrupted, certainly in 2016.
O my fellow compatriots, let us just see how high the stack of Little Eichmanns already there extends.
Of course, certain folks already threw their tanties and married themselves to the position of outrage over Hunter’s pardon because “how dare he pardon Hunter without pardoning all the people I think he should pardon!!!”, so the response will be muted and peppered with shit like “too little, too late” because once they’ve found the outrage bone to gnaw on, they never want to let it go.
A handshake is an assault. The GOP’s projection is getting worse and worse.
Also, Nancy Mace appears to be very afraid of…something or other.
We aren’t polite.
And Fed Society member.
