After over two years with President Donald Trump to contend with, world leaders are wising up to his tendencies and taking pains to avoid confrontation like that which blew up last year’s G7 in Canada.
When the U.S. hosts the G-7 next year, Trump wants to have it at his Doral, FL club (nothing like a little in-your-face grifting and emoluments violations).
I imagine he’ll give everyone a DVD before he leaves today with a commercial including all the beauty, benefits and amenities of Doral.
By the way, I’m not sure the other G-7 leaders have been treading softly as much as they’ve been ignoring and isolating Trump without setting him off. It’s really like dealing with an undisciplined child at an event you don’t want him to ruin.
“…saves his criticism for Twitter.” You called it, Ms Riga. Our beloved leader is fundamentally incapable of talking WITH others. He can only talk AT them, which is why Twitter is his favorite hang-out. He’s a coward.
It is loathsome that the real world leaders have to be near the FAKE leader Trump. I would expect that they would take caution as they maneuver around the orange pile of excrement. If the other attendees’ brains had olfactory capability, they would all lose consciousness from the putrid stupidity he emits.
And exactly what has/will this accomplish? I’ve said it before, this is a completely failed approach. Both Abe and Macron have tried previously this ingratiating approaches and have absolutely zero in anything to show for it.
At what point are they going to learn? You should have a united front and confront the abomination. Put him in his little corner with the dunce cap. With a united approach, what is he going to do?
And you think that with a united tariff response, that Moscow Mitch would do nothing as the real power in republican land would be going apoplectic? He has from the get-go threatened tariffs on European cars.
Of course he can cause damage. He’s already done much damage. He was always going to cause damage. And he’s doing even more as we write. And it remains to be seen how all the previous damages will ultimately aggregate. We are nowhere out of the woods.
They should have minimized the damage earlier by emasculating the coward. You don’t win the fight with a bully by running away from the challenge. And the most effective punch in the face would come from the G6 doing so in a forceful and public takedown.
The translator at the G7 will translate PM Macron’s remarks from the French into Pig-Latin so that Our Favorite President will be able to (possibly) understand them.
BTW, what is the French term for “crazy motherfucker”?
