And the Donald Trump Shit Show continues. At least the ratings are good, everybody is watching.

All I can say is I’m glad I’m not trying to get out of Paris through CDG airport. The most disorganized, hellish lines in normal times. I love France except for this airport. Nightmare.
Meanwhile in the US, these fricking people don’t know what they are doing except adding bodies to the virus count.
Having been back from Central America (not a hot spot yet) less than a week, glad I came back when I did and not flying the friendly skies for the foreseeable future.

As I said a few days ago, It’s as if God is challenging the Democratic Party “If you can’t beat this guy now, I got nothing for you”

The ratings will show up when the market futures start to pour in.

I expect to lose another whole bunch of money in the next week or two.

My plan was to retire in August. I’ll be going into it with a lot less on the books than I had hoped. I do think it’ll come back, but I hear is going to be a slow recovery.

This article is even worse than the WAPO piece on just how badly Trump bungled this. What this article does a good job of is it doesn’t pay too much attention to the parlor games and palace intrigue about who has Trump’s attention. It simply puts Trump in his role as the President and tells us what choices he made when presented with information that showed there was a real threat to the nation from the corona virus.

In a normal political environment, Trump would be forced to resign and it would not at all be a controversial ask. This article reads like a report on a CEO’s performance. Trump has objectively done a shitty job as POTUS.

But it’s bigger than that, what Trump has done is set the country up for a massive economic downturn and very significant loss of life. More than that, he has set us up for a rapidly changing and deteriorating quality of life. We’re doing things now with isolation, quarantines and shutdowns of gatherings that we never did in 40+ years of Cold War when the Soviets had missiles pointing at us and our allies.

I have about 2-1/2 years, but I suspect the recovery will go into full swing when this nincompoop is no longer in charge. I’d like to think we’ve learned our lessons.

DISGUSTING INCOMPETENCE!!!

seriously … deadly seriously…

I have seen small town community fairs with more planning, forethought, reasoning, logic, and consideration of the lives, safety, and wellbeing of those participating in the event. REALLY!

THINK ABOUT IT - if you are planning a town fair, you take in account total attendees, number of booths / vendors, ingress, egress, width of aisles, restrooms, water stations , trash receptacles (& how frequently they have to be emptied) first aid stations … and much much more

THESE INCOMPETENT ASSHOLES DO NOT THINK CRITICALLY AND ANALYTICALLY !

Their priority is simply to shut up the chatter about the problem … and distracting everyone is their favorite approach … how about that great stock market gain? … fixing it correctly isn’t.

Yes, people apparently have trouble locating the “Off” button.

Yeah, that screening is actually achieving the opposite of its intent. Having huge crowds together in close quarters like that, if there is any carrier, it’s a great setting for “super transmission.” It’s worse than pointless, it’s actually actively counter-productive in that set-up.

I’ve gone through such screenings overseas, never that kind of back-up.

an interesting thing to see would be what party do infected folks associate with. I’m guessing more Ds due to living in urban areas.

George Bush Jr. did the same thing by ignoring the housing bubble, when they realized the shit was going to hit the fan they did their damnedest to postpone it until after the elections, but it didn’t work. I was going to say at least he didn’t have the loss of life, but his wars killed off hundreds of thousands so…

Republicans, of all stripes are just horrible fucking people.
