They’re probably struggling with how to approach it. I know I am. On the one hand it’s horrible, on the other hand how do you approach that without stumbling over the rights own rhetoric. It’s kind of like the Trump attack this summer; it’s easy to condem political violence, but when the guy who advocated for a second ammendment solution gets shot at? Are second amendment solutions only valid if used against liberals? Why is the CEO shooting an issue when events like Uvalde are, as the VP elect has said, a fact of life?
I feel sorry for the man, his family and friends, but isn’t this the world the GOP has been advocating for? You’d think they’d be happy.

Ukraine can today continue their war against Putin w/o American $$. No more $$ means, to Ukraine, no more restrictions. They don’t have to play defense any longer thanks to Biden ending restrictions on advancing, taking the fight into Russia. And they won’t be restricted in bombing Russian oil production, which would set world oil prices higher higher if Trump threatens to cut off aid. Russian troop morale is at it’s lowest now with the killing field numbers as high as a thousand Russian troops killed, captured or injured everyday. Putin is so desperate he’s enlisting Siberian men with 300 million rubles signing bonuses (30,000 U.S. dollars) to join the battle. And the list goes on. Putin is not going to listen to Trump and Zelensky has no reason to listen to Trump at this time.
Let the humiliation commence!

TPM articles are fact-based, and we just don’t know that much about what happened. We’re all assuming a motive based on the actions of the company and CEO, and that sure seems likely, but I wouldn’t ding TPM for not covering a developing situation like this.

The thing is that Government is also headed in the same direction as healthcare. Trump, Musk, the GOP are now after Medicare, Social Security, Medicade, Education, Public Schools to milk every dollar possible from these programs.

I fear the term “culture war” is increasingly a euphemism. Denying trans people medical care for, say, gender dysphoria is not a “cultural” move. It harms them physically. And the unusually high rates of violent crime that trans women in particular suffer from are only likely to get worse as the drumbeat of hatred gets louder. If it’s not just a war, then call it, maybe, a hate movement.
