Hello it’s the weekend. This is The Weekender
What better way to soothe the barely latent rage of Americans suffering through endless airport security lines than by introducing agents from an agency most of them dislike? As would-be fliers tap on their phones for three, four, five hours — in lines that stretch out…
It’s a super-early Weekender, probably because our intrepid reporters are fanning out through the city to attend No Kings observations.
I’m going to the one here in my Minnesota town - won’t go to St. Paul (it’s an hour away). Dear hubby is working today and is supporting my attendance. Some of his colleagues (as they’re in St, Paul) want to go to the Capital to be part of the protest.
ETA: There are a lot of protests in the NYC area:
My thoughts are all with those rising up together there in my former country. I know that my old home town of Austin Tejas will be one of the premier events, they always make me proud. I’ve been mainly in bed this week otherwise might have tried putting together something here. Punta Gorda is a small place but there are quite a few expats here. And with our neighbor Cuba being threatened as the next victim there is definite resonance with the local folks as well
Good morning everyone!
A big day on tap
Stay peaceful, stay safe!!
Being disabled I cannot be with you but I’m there in spirit!!
Gorgeous cat darr !
It’ll be my honor to represent you here in Minnesota.
ETA: you, too, @revjim
That’s Ferrous who was a rescue I did from a horder’s home. He came to us as a kitten and made 16 years before his passing in 2019. He was keen for his box for “security”. He did not share it.
@becca656 …. Thank you so much ! I will be checking in throughout the day !
Just beautiful, both the cat and the origin story. I am up to 12 cats here now and when I checked my messages this morning someone here discovered abandoned kittens in a barrel yesterday and is wanting to bring them. I am close to maxed out but won’t turn them away, don’t know how many or what age yet
Birds of a feather, just 2 different flocks…
