Willis Admits Relationship With Prosecutor, Denies It Taints Trump Case - TPM – Talking Points Memo

Which workplace are you familiar with where this did not ever happen?

Oh, that’s the standard? Go ahead and fuck the help, it’s fine?

This is the plot of about 30,000 romance movies.

I’m tired of the double standard. Instead of celebrating the romance, the finding of love but working a difficult case, they frame this powerful human event as nefarious. This entire attack feels sexist, racist and ignorant.

Was it bad optics when JFK appointed RFK his attorney general?
Was it unethical?
Was it a mistake?

And all of this sturm und drang from the attorneys of the guy who appointed his son-in-law to a position in the White House and then had to override the decision of the intelligence community to get the twerp a security clearance.

Sheeh!

I suppose a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.

Don’t you know, she’s on our “team”, you need to defend whatever stupid, unprofessional shit she does, because go team go!

Disappointed by many commentators here, but not in the least bit surprised.

Looks bad? Sure.

Is bad? No.

Bearing upon the case against Trump? None, whatsoever.

It was good enough for Tommy J!

I think it’s not so much about it tainting the prosecution as about appearances. Anything that provides content for the propaganda machine to use to undermine its perceived legitimacy is pretty much just as important for TFG in the long run.

lurid allegations

They learned from Brett Kavanaugh and the Starr report.

A couple of people working closely together, pulling long hours, under incredible stress. Yes, wish it were not so, but stuff happens. People are human. Willis had a consensual affair with a friend and colleague. Is that worse than the purchase of hookers or molestation of interns we hear about almost daily?

Fred and Mary Trump come to mind.

An improper relationship between two members of a prosecution team simply doesn’t get a defendant off the hook. Prosecutions are bought by the state, not the prosecutor.

She did not screw a porn star or a Playboy Bunny, which is fine with all of the born again folk, or rape anyone, so what is the problem?
Republicans may fuck anyone but Democrats may not.

Republicans fuck everyone.

It arguably gives her financial interest in the defendants’ prosecution. The more money she shovels into Wade’s account for prosecuting the case, the more she benefits with sweet, sweet luxury travel and such. That sure looks like a conflict of interest.

Well, there’s certainly some bad optics there.

Bull f****** s***.

Edit: that post, that description of a relationship between two humans, is f****** sexist. How dare you imply that people are in a relationship just for transactional gains. You literally called Fanny Willis a whore.

Once again we’re letting the Right make us dance like marionettes. This is a distraction from the massive wrongdoing by Trump. If there’s merit to the accusations they will sort themselves out. Redirect attention to the REAL issue instead of getting sidetracked by every molehill they try to build into a mountain.
