Pundits telegraphed their think pieces for weeks: the governor’s race in Virginia, pitting former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe against the quietly-Trumpy-in-nonthreatening-dad-packaging Glenn Youngkin, will be a Democratic bellwether.
Dems were slaughtered state & county-wide where I live. Sanders, Jayapal, Manchin & Sinema got a purple, majority Dem registered county & state (Bucks & Pa) to go red. Nice job, all. Glad your jobs are safe.
Most pundits subscribe to the “White Guys In Diners Rule” school of governance. They’re perfectly happy when Republicans win by any means necessary.
Which, of course, makes me want to slap both Manchin and Look-at-me-me-me-me Sinema upside the head until their ears ring.

We need to learn from this. All is not lost, although this morning it kinda feels that way. However, there is still time, but we must get things done. Sadly, I think we need to go ahead and pass the BIF. Then tackle voting.

Republicans have telegraphed that they’re running in 2022 on CRT and school boards. We can start attacking that today and not let up.

What happened in NJ? Now I am afraid to look.
It’s really close, a lot closer than predicted. There are a lot of outstanding ballots (including mine) from favored Murphy locales but I don’t think anyone thought it would take this long to call the race. The GOP candidate took from the Youngkin playbook. He danced around Trump but said all the culture war stuff. But nobody in the national media paid a lick of attention to us, which is probably good in the end. They definitely helped elevate Youngkin’s lies.
The more, the merrier.
Success breeds success. Pass what can be passed with actually existing votes, not wished for ones, ideal or not, and market the hell out of that as success.
A total failure is worse than partial success.
It’s hard to put into word how annoyed/frustrated/angry I am at these idiots who vote against their own self interest because they belive in the most ridiculous made up shit. The main issue here is that there is a entire industry setup to pump lies and misinformation into these people’s heads. It would be one thing if they were only harming themselves, but they are dooming us all.
What can pass? Sinemachun is never clear on that, they seem much more like they just want to drag things out to the point nothing gets done.
