As we heard in the J6C hearings, more than one of the lawyers in the administration warned them that this sort of thing was criminal. I don’t know if anyone spoke directly to Navarro, but I assume he has the usual communications devices and is vaguely aware of the whole business. But many of them seem to have a not uncommon personality defect in which they assume a thing they want is ipso facto a right and proper thing, a legitimate and OK thing. It’s a neat trick because it delegitimizes any opposition. They never say, “Well, you may have a point,” or “There’s something to that.” They reject your right to question them at all.

Thank you for including this list of names and their party credentials. It makes it very clear that these are all people who know the rules and decided to violate them in an effort to overrule the voters. I think the same is true of the fraudulent electors in the other states included in this gambit.
I think DOJ may be going after these guys not only because it is easy to prove, but because these are well-known people in their communities that have a lot to lose and if you can make it clear at the state level that this won’t fly and has real-life repercussions, it is much less likely to happen again anytime soon. Community leaders don’t want to see their names in the police / criminal blotters in their local papers. They also don’t want to lose their day jobs and their status in their communities.

I remember the Green Bay Sweep was a football play from the legendary Green Bay Packers under the legendary Vince Lombardi. In other words, from the dawn of time when the earth was cooling… I am that old. What I couldn’t understand was the analogy to the fake electors scheme, and I’ve been meaning to look it up. Sadly, this can’t be corrected except at the State level. The Feds can’t really, especially with the revocation of the VRA, have much to do with how a State runs its elections. This can happen again, should many of the GQP SoS candidates who deny the 2020 election outcome win their elections in November.
We’re going to see a whole lot more of this. A whole lot more. There aren’t a whole lot of mechanisms to prevent it.

Josh, this was a good write up as usual and I might suggest that you investigate this to go with your investigation. It comes from a posting from Daily Kos, and it involves the lawyer Cleta Mitchell who Trump put on one of those calls to Georgia. She has been active with the RNC training poll workers in battleground states according to Politico. She has been hiding in the background, but it sounds like she knows quite a bit about the plan.

If they don’t stop focusing just on Chump, they are going to miss the broad side of the barn and the Nov '22 window. They have the power to give the evidence, the video, and the audio to every campaign coast to coast. Along with Abortion, Guns, Climate, your R elected official and your entire state R party attempted to strip your vote from you, was involved in the J6 coup, and are working RIGHT NOW to invalidate your next vote.

A question remains after the explanation that the true GOP electors were chosen on election day and only would vote if the state was certified for Trump. Are the electors spoken of fake only because Trump lost? Or are they in fact also fake because many of them weren’t even the electors chosen by voters on election day and were not properly chosen replacements for real GOP electors even if Trump had won?

This reminds me of a dynamic in my own organization.
I think that one of the real downsides of leadership is the fact that a lot of people you are leading assume that you are using your power to benefit yourself. That projection of their own impulses colors their interpretation of your actions, even though you were put into a leadership position largely because you were seen as even-handed. Conversely, those who are never put into leadership because they are perceived as selfish, project that selfishness onto you.
