From May, 2018, George Will on Mike Pence:

“His is the authentic voice of today’s lickspittle Republican Party, he clarifies this year’s elections: Vote Republican to ratify groveling as governing.”

“Trump is what he is, a floundering, inarticulate jumble of gnawing insecurities and not-at-all compensating vanities, which is pathetic. Pence is what he has chosen to be, which is horrifying.”

I know they can’t reveal the number of agents assigned to Pence but 8 agents has to be a significant percentage of them and if 8 tested positive, those 8 have undoubtedly infected additional agents. This administration is so incompetent they can’t control COCID-19 at the highest level of government even though their resources are better than anyone’s.

Eight Secret Service Agents Tested Positive For Coronavirus

WEAR THE FUCKING MASK YOU IDIOTS!

He delayed the trip only so that he could get non-infected Secret Service agents to protect him while traveling into a covid-19 hotspot?

Doesn’t that suggest that Pence and his boss think the agents - who are human beings, after all - are fungible? I imagine the president* telling Pence, “Okay you used up eight agents, but we’ll get you eight new ones, and there are plenty more we can assign to you after you use those up. Carry on with your efforts to get me reelected.”

That is 8 just on Pence’s detail, the total number has to be much higher. The level of infection is what you would get after a frat party in a basement.

Anyone who read Poe’s “The Masque if the Red Death” in high school could have predicted this. I guess Ayn Rand didn’t mention it.

Every now and then Will says something that makes sense. Most of the time he just tries to demonstrate that he has an intellect superior to everyone else’s. But this is one time he got it right.

The crazy thing is- both Pence and Trump keep reporting that they get tested daily. Is that making them think that somehow taking the test gives them some sort of immunity. I suppose a person could use daily test results to support the position of not wearing masks if you are confident you don’t have the virus. But with as many cases as seem to spring up around them, it seems like sooner or later the virus is going to get to one of them… (and I’m sure many TPMers would add “I hope” to that thought).

It seems that SS agents are highly expendable in this administration. As are the rest of us.

Well they do have that reputation as a bunch of bros.

As the bad polling news keeps coming, an increasingly desperate Trump reportedly called Tucker Carlson late last week and whined, “What do I do? What do I do?”

Rich people think other rich people have the answers, but alas, the experts do.

He had 100 choral singers belting it out as he sat there in a mask. God, I hope these fuckers get it.

If only the WH would stop testing their damned staff, there wouldn’t be any covid cases there.
