Why Gorsuch’s Role In Pro-LGBT Ruling Cuts Conservatives So Deep | Talking Points Memo

When conservative groups spent millions of dollars to keep Justice Antonin Scalia’s Supreme Court vacant until a GOP president could fill it, Monday’s sweeping pro-LGBT ruling was just the kind of opinion they were trying to prevent.

“You spend all this time telling yourself you can justify voting for someone who is tremendously flawed to get these great judges and get this utter failure of a ruling.”

Karma, baby, simple as that…

Gorsuch’s Role In Pro-LGBT Ruling Cuts Conservatives So Deep

Good. Fuck ‘em.

I was surprised by Gorsuch’s decision as well. But never fear, there are other massive decisions coming up that I’m sure he’ll toe the line.

For now, I’ll take it.

““Justice Scalia would be disappointed that his successor has bungled textualism so badly today”

HAHAHAHAHA…of course he would. “Textualism” was never anything but a pretext for Scalia to arrive at pro-white-Christian results he favored, and watching the current religiot dominionist temper tantrum conflating and equating “originalism” and “textualism” with arriving at “Christian conservative” outcomes really just exposes the entire fucking farce for what it is and always has been.

ETA: Let me illustrate “textualism” for you…“WEEEEEELL, we know they were good god-fearin’ white Christian men who wrote this so we also know what they must have meant was X.” Period. End of lesson. Take that to law school or a Federalist Society meeting and rub it in someone’s idiot face.

We can only hope that the Money Changers in the Temple like Andrew T. Walker enjoy the rotten egg smell on their faces for a long, long time. Evangelical hypocrisy is a wretched stench. Their hitching to Trump proves that their devil is a wily and persuasive demon.

So today this. And I managed to fix my thirteen year old daughters tearfully vexing iPhone problem without losing her stuff. It’s a good day.

I should probably make sure and look over my shoulder for the murder hornets the next week or two.

Walker, a Professor at a Theological Seminary, a former Trumper, now supports Trump because of his “religious convictions” That is religious insanity in a nutshell. NOBODY EVER accused Trump of having religious convictions except Trump! Would religious convictions allow him to break his marriage vows? Would they permit him to hang on to a mistress while married? would they permit him to have sex with a porn actress after his son was recently born to his third wife? And pay them off to be quiet and not let the world know about his “religious convictions”? Religious convictions? Bullshit!

From the article, lets me quote one of my all time favorite artist.

“It looks like Trump’s presidency built of sand is slipping away, as his own nominated justices won’t stop the sea of change.”

It’s the problem that the social conservatives face. They believe themselves to be the “one and true conservatives” and they don’t realize that the corporate conservatives also hold sway in the party (and the occasional legitimate libertarian). I’m persuaded by the argument that the corporate wing of the party sees this as a political loser going forward, so they (Roberts and Gorsuch) decided to throw in the towel and let this go.

Helen Keller from the moon would be able to tell Trump has zero religious convictions. How self-deluded can one be to think otherwise?

Gorsuch and Roberts will kiss and make up with their fellow cons soon enough.

It baffles me that THIS is the case that Conservatives are willing to abandon Trump over. They’re really going to abandon him after all this because the SC ruled that they can’t fire gay or transgender people?

Pretty much; the Trumpies have apologized for his antics and ridiculousness by saying “yeah but look at the people he puts on federal courts!” Meanwhile SCOTUS just punted 2A related cases once again, while issuing this ruling.

You love to see it.
