Why Conspiracy Theories About the Minnesota Protests Are Falling Flat

In Ward 3, the Minneapolis neighborhood where ICU nurse Alex Pretti was gunned down by federal agents, neighbors are turning to each other for everything from groceries to school dropoffs. “We have people who are, every single day, taking their vulnerable neighbors’ kids to school for them; taking them to work; taking them to do…

One of the highlight of the upcoming Epstein Season this year is the deposition of Les Wexler by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, currently set for February 18, 2026, Wexler is exhibit #1 in Epstein’s modus operandi. Painful memories for Wexler, but should be enlightening.

This is a good article that gives me hope for our Democracy. The response of Minneapolis to the ICE attack was pretty much a surprise to the Trump crowd filled with right wing influencers and others like Stephen Miller who thought Minneapolis would cower and cave.

Anybody who knows anything about American history (admittedly the right wing influencers were too busy learning how to monetize their websites to learn history) realizes that Americans are not exclusively the insular transactional people portrayed on American media. They are not going to cower the way would be NAZIs think they should.

I have also learned that the tech bros at Apple are going to rue the day they put a really good movie camera in each phone. It is hard for the administration to do mischief when everything is captured from every possible angle.

After Minnesota I feel a whole lot better about the future of America.

Good point re the Apple rueing the day they put a video cam in every phone. I just called my senators to demand no funding to dhs. they (trump regime) really don’t get it, as you note. The fact that regular people really do revere American democratic ideals and really can love their neighbors who don’t look like them. I do wish Pope Leo would excommunicate Vance. He’s the biggest hypocrite I believe I’ve ever witnessed.

My news search of Homan’s delivery reveals quite a choose-your-own-adventure. Check out the array of headlines. Sheesh! Fox News always, always a big fat plastic nipple for its insecure audience.

What surprises me is how many people choose to believe what’s not true. As someone said on TV all you need is one good eye and one braincell to see what’s happening.

I’d like to allege that J.D. Vance is a couch-fucking ignoramus who belongs nowhere near the levers of power. He is lower than whale shit.

I have noticed an amazing degree of avoidance of asking the simple question of why on earth is ICE there in such large numbers?

Dealing with the fact they dumped a bunch of ill-trained gonzo military-like group with guns into a major city should draw a few more questions.

One of the many mistakes we made in the war in Iraq was to immediately disband the Iraqi army. Suddenly there was large group of military trained, armed, and unemployed many of whom joined the opposition. If we get control of the White House we should be careful about disbanding ICE quickly. We may end up with a large group of unemployed angry men on the street

Me too. The giant is waking up again.

Oh, the whale is dead.

Somehow I am thinking this is a bad idea. What if we considered instead, how we disband ICE quickly?

And, I am thinking, a large number of those in ICE are indeed part of the opposition, that is they are Republican already. In other words, ICE and the Iraqi army are not good comparisons.

it really is selective. The fox news consumers I know are all stone faced and paranoid. I used to think it was a symptom of brainwashing. Now I think it is a manifestation of their deep down discomfort in knowing they are suppressing the truth and choosing to believe something they know is a pile of shit.

Vance couldn’t have less charisma if he tried. It’s why Trumpists don’t even like him. Always with the “clearly..” and “obviously the left is well funded and committed to violence ” and “obviously blah blah blah.” And he goes and says society is destroyed if people have to live near or with people who don’t share common ancestry or look alike. Hmm. Last I checked he chose to propagate with someone whose family was let into this country via LBJ’s liberal open immigration bill. And his kids have Hindu names. Why the wifey puts up with this passive aggressive bludgeoning I can’t fathom. Indian Americans are a very proud ethnic group. Still behooves me.
