Not sure why anyone would align themselves with a “currency” that is favored for bribes, ransom payments, and (as the article suggests) Ponzi schemes and swindles.
The fact that the grifter-in-chief is big on it should be more negatively-persuasive than it apparently is.

Well worn obvious tactic by some of them with ambitions of higher office or getting very rich: give the oligarchy positions to bribe you out of.

This is a classical example of how bad leadership makes everyone worse.
Our elections are built around money for the messaging, and there is a lot of money sloshing around at the top. Ergo, the top 0.1% have enormous power to buy politicians. Republicans built the idea that money is votes and now everyone is stuck in it. That does not mean I am giving Senator Alsobrooks or David Throne a pass, but it does mean that I am not surprised.

Excellent article. Has TPM considered exploring Cory Booker’s ties to crypto? He presents himself as a progressive but behaves very differently behind the scenes.
Let’s not muddy the water by labeling everything as crypto. Blockchain technology is simply newer technology, and some of it has great utility. Many like the trump related coins are just a scam. The world financial systems are moving from 1960s to digital frameworks. The US can lead or we can keep the status quo of paper and oil. Everyone else is moving on with or without.
If the banks are against it, that seems like a validation of the technology. This topic shouldn’t be along the party line thinking.

This is why I am now “unaffiliated” I sent in the paperwork the other day. Here in NJ, car insurance can literally stick their hand in your pocket and take what they want. Who is in bed with auto insurance in my state? EVERY STATE elected politician and our Governor. In fact, the Dem State Senate Majority leader takes the most from them. In my life, I’ve struggled mightily with mental health and addiction. It’s why I’ve chosen the career path of helping others through it. My first major purchase as a man in recovery, was a new car. I am financing it, and I’m paying more for my car insurance than I am my car payments. All this, and Chuck Schumer feebleness, is why I’ve left the Democratic party. It left me sort of thing. Dems don’t give a damn about the single person, with a single income household. Never any legislation to make our lives easier. Still a liberal though. In fact my last vote was Annalilia Mejia.
