Who Was Going To Release What From The Trump Mar-a-Lago Records? - TPM – Talking Points Memo

I suppose if Trump was going to set up a parking garage business that might be true.

“My authorization as a representative to the National Archives with access to the Trump collection has nothing to do with the grand jury investigation, the dispute over documents at Mar-a-Lago, or the FBI search,” Solomon said. “It was granted solely in my capacity as a reporter. I did not access the documents in Florida, seek to access them, or have anything to do with them or the dispute surrounding them.”
I am guessing that Solomon expects he might be charged with something related to classified documents, and is preparing a defense based on his ‘journalism’ credentials.

From the article:

“But here’s the question: which records are we talking about?”

I think the answer is NONE OF THEM. That everything Kash Patel and John Solomon are saying is hogwash. There are no records and never were that support their claims about the investigation that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election.

(As a side note, it is undisputed that the Trump campaign and Russia were sharing polling information and if you are sharing polling information you are colluding. Also, the Mueller investigation uncovered 12 counts of obstruction of justice by Trump and his campaign, it was unable to reach a conclusion on illegal cooperation between Trump and the Russians because the obstruction of justice was successful at obstructing justice and making it impossible to reach a conclusion on illegal collusion.)

But back to Patel and Solomon, the records they claim to have do not exist and it does not matter if they are talking about the records Trump illegally had at Mar-a-Lago or flushed down the toilet or tore up or are in the national achieves. They do not exist and never existed.

Yet they howl to their crazies that they are being prevented from being able to release the documents because of the nasty deep state…

I’m guessing that parking fee is really where the money’s at. Less employee, less up keep, but probably the same insurance headaches.

OT but you know, I wouldn’t mind seeing an explainer on the jeopardy that Weisselberg’s guilty plea represents for the Trump Organization. They’ve already had the accounting firm disavow their financial statements. As I understand you already have W. pleading to tax fraud and now he has to testify without Fifth Amendment protection. If he says they were pretty much regularly criming, well then. I’ve read people saying this could be fatal to Trump’s whole world, pretty much. Big if true IMHO. So it’s interesting.

Manafort shared polling information with purported insiders to the Russian government. I haven’t read he did it at Trump’s direction, nor that Trump had knowledge of it before it was done.

Patel is saying that the DOJ thwarted Trumpy’s attempt to de-classify documents but on Faux News he said that Trumpy could de-classify anything with the wave a hand. Both cannot be true.

I think DFG, perhaps from desperation, may be playing chicken with regards to the Russia investigation documents.

As long as they remain classified, he can screech that the truth that would ‘exonerate’ him (again!) is being held from the public.

Since he could have declassified everything related to that investigation while POTUS, we should have seen the exculpatory evidence by now. Except they’re being audited by Hillary.

I should have said “The Trump campaign”. Changed in original comment.

One version I read seems to indicate Patel was preparing to publicize some documents, but now that they’ve been swept up by the DOJ they’re unavailable to him because they’ve become evidence in an investigation or grand jury proceeding. Hence “thwarted”.

And that’s after they said they didn’t have any classified documents…they lie as easy as they breathe.

I’m with you there but with one exception. He has (or had?) a couple of sweet twin turbine S76 helicopters. I like helicopters, used to charter them for photo shoots, but it’s been 30 year since the last time I sat in the open doorway of a Jet Ranger. There is nothing quite like the feel of that initial lift when the ground drops away beneath you. I should save up some money for a tourist ride one of these days, just for old times’ sake.

If I were Kash, I’d be laying low and looking for a new gig. I think his best opportunity would be for Coppola to end his directing career with a prequel to The Godfather trilogy. He’s made to play “The Turk” Solozzo who wants to get the Corleone Family into the heroin trade.

This is sort of correct. It’s getting pretty hard for most Russians to get Finnish visas, but yes, the well-to-do in Russia have their ways.

Kash apparently won’t, or can’t, think about his own exposure in this matter.
Methinks the future bodes poorly for him.

Julia Davis at Daily Beast has a whole slew of great articles on what Russia is saying on state TV. Well worth a read.

Any of these knuckleheads convicted of Federal crimes will be pardoned for them by the next GOP Prez. That’s assured, because that Prez will have to pardon all of them to keep their voters loyal and in line for their run at reelection. They’ll probably have to promise to do it while campaigning for their first term, or they’ll be denied the nomination.

It’s remarkable how much they can bench press.
