Who’s Testifying In The Impeachment Probe This Week — And Why We Care

Another week, more depositions.

As the House’s impeachment inquiry continues — despite attempts by the Trump administration to restrict witness testimony in the probe — another week of closed-door depositions could shed some light on the extent to which President Donald Trump used his office for political gain.

Who’s Testifying In The Impeachment Probe This Week

Taylor (tomorrow) is the big one, of course.

Depositions from Reeker and the Foreign Service officer based in Kiev could be interesting.

I doubt Duffey will be heard from unless a court forces him to at least show up.

And while this is all important, the GOP caucus is writing a resolution to censure Schiff for his impeachment inquiry process.

Mind you, nothing about what he’s finding and what’s leaked out and all. No. That he is performing his constitutional duty as a Congresscritter is deserving of censure.

I’m sure Pelosi will bring it to the floor as soon as McConnell’s roadblock in the Senate of passed bills by the House is broken open. And then watch the Right cry as to how she’s obstructing. And the media panders on.

It’s important to see the Ukraine crisis in its broader context as we witness the dismantling of long-standing institutions and alliances.

Silver lining: Henry Kissinger is still alive to see it.

Gee, for a sham, illegitimate impeachment inquiry, they sure are trying to get a lot of documents and testimony from a lot of witnesses who know about a lot of corrupt and potentially corrupt activities.

The only thing that’s illegitimate is the stonewalling and obstruction of the administration, and the sham is the congressional Republicans pretending like this is not a permitted (perhaps required) - by - the - Constitution inquiry.

From Josh’s piece today.

Will you be impeached?
“I think they want to.”
“Why would they want to impeach me? It’s so illegitimate.”

Is it any wonder how Netanyahu found himself so weakened by his alliances with tRump and Putin? Israel is now threatened by Turkey’s attack on the Kurds (who most Israelis have a sympathetic view of wanting their own land). Netanyahu helped strengthen both tRump and Putin’s hand in all this thereby putting Iran at Israel’s doorstep in the process…something Netanyahu has been railing about and claiming would be the worst of all possible outcomes…yet that’s exactly the end result. Netanyahu’s traitorous acts to his own country should have consequences. That fucker is corrupt as hell. His self-interest and ultra-rightwing supporters have overtaken his love of country and the rule of law. Sound familiar? I hope he sees the inside of a prison cell much like tRump should someday.

But smarter.

Smart enough to have lasted this long but the day of reckoning is coming for his corruption and arrogance.

Although I hate to interrupt the cheesy puns, I have a legit question. How many depositions do we have scheduled and what’s our timeline on presenting public hearings? Okay, that was two questions.
