Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) on Sunday said that the alleged kidnapping plot against her demonstrates “serious threats” from domestic terrorists as concerns grow over voter intimidation tactics at polling places on Election Day.

In light of what almost happened to Whitmer, I’m concerned for our Oregon governor, Kate Brown. She’s committed the same unpardonable sins as Whitmer, e.g. governing while female, imposing lockdowns on high COVID infection areas and generally looking after the health and welfare of the state. The veiled threats and vitriol on social media every time she makes an announcement are sobering and alarming.
“Work with Republicans”? (sigh) Well, it seems that it’s mandatory for every Dem to say this, even though Today’s Republican Party needs to be burned to the ground, and the earth sown with salt afterwards. Meanwhile, Republicans get away with “The only Good Democrat is a Dead Democrat” and a “cancel culture” that literally cancels people they disagree with. Preferably with a gun (Our Sacred Second Amendment!), but a rope will do and is actually preferred for … you know, those people.
Because they were all members of the group, so knew what plans were happening for where.
I think working with Republicans who don’t look upon compromise as a sign of evil, has worked well for our country but THESE GOP. Cock…er…Republicans, the ones who think Democrats are evil instead of wrong and whose loyalties lay with themselves and not the country, cannot be worked with. They must be voted out of office and someone voted in who wants and believes the country can succeed.
It’s not that our government CAN’T work, it’s that it’s loaded with hucksters who BELIEVE it can’t and want to be elected so they can PROVE it. This is our biggest problem.
At one time I believed this, not any more.
Anyone in the Republican Party who refuses to stand up to Trump is not a decent human.
Here in PA our Republican Congress is the grandest waste of white flesh known in the history of man.
They have no ability to govern only talent is to say no to anything.
Our Gov Mills also has been excoriated for governing very well while female. It’s pretty freaking sad.

Same here in New Mexico. The “business community” (aka the bars and restaurant associations) keep launching one lawsuit after another to prevent public health measures for remaining in effect.
I hope she gets to screen the officers assigned to her detail. It seems there are many out of control cops out there these days.
I live in blood red Southern Oregon and the freaks hate her down here. Seriously hate her. I’m a well trained well armed legal concealed carry former soldier. I carry a gun BECAUSE of these 2A is scripture assholes. Hows that for irony?

It absolutely will not be the last time we hear about arrests like this.
It won’t end next month or in January either.
We don’t have to worry about terrorists coming in through our borders. The terrorists we need to be concerned with are already here. And too many of them have inroads to and support from local law enforcement.
One hopeful takeaway from this for me is that, despite Trump, the FBI does recognize the threat of right wing domestic terrorism and is actively engaged in bringing those perpetrators to justice. Most of the FBI has not yet been co-opted. The exception being the NY branch that illegally sabotaged Hillary’s campaign. Is that still under investigation?
I’ve reported several comments on FB to no avail. These are the same assholes who come to Portland and drive their obscenely large trucks through downtown shooting paintball guns at people; I have no doubt they are capable to doing the same thing to Brown that the did to Whitmer.
If the anti-maskers really want to provide the impetus to revive the Anti-Saloon League, they’ve found a pretty compelling way to do it.
Short of saying he wants white supremacists and related right wing crazies to start a shooting war Trump has done all he can to encourage right wingers to use their fancy rifles on liberals and blacks. What is worse is the support they receive from hate radio and Fox News. I am concerned that if they don’t win the right wing will start shooting. That could go very bad very fast.
