To be fair, it often doesn’t. We’ve all had our moments. The word “regret” wouldn’t exist if human beings weren’t so goddamn talented at creating them.
Meh. Just a guess, but I think this will be very hard to prove in a trial. She can create reasonable doubt just by making unrebuttable claims about her state of mind. I think charges will be dropped.
Of course they will. She’s white. It won’t be too long before she appears standing next to her (new) black friends, either.
It’s a low level misdemeanor, not anything she’s going to go to prison over.
I’m not sure why you would put this back on him for, “causing drama.” In case you’ve missed it, this kind of drama has the coincidence of either killing, maiming, or causing the black participant to get the living crap kicked out of them. If it causes one bat-shit crazy white person to not commit death-by-cop on a black person, then any amount of national attention is necessary.
Outside of the white=innocent and black=guilty mentality, this is how every one of these incidents should end. No one is killed and no one is put in the hospital or jail. Unfortunately, the previous statement remains true.
Relax people. Kanye’s got his Trump dollars to save his Yeezy brand and is going to bring us all together when we elect him president…
Kanye West’s clothing and sneaker brand Yeezy received a loan from the federal government’s pandemic rescue fund worth between $2 million and $5 million, helping it save 106 jobs, according to data released by the U.S. Treasury Department on Monday.
Yeezy, best known for its $250 sneakers, just announced a major deal with Gap that will have the rap superstar designing hoodies and T-shirts that will be sold in the chain’s 1,100 stores around the world. A representative for Yeezy did not immediately respond to request for comment.
This weekend, West announced on Twitter that he was running for president.
With a Kanye West Cabinet full of Kardashians and Jenners, we are sure to regain our standing in the world.
Yes.
Sure, everybody has less-than-shining moments that taken out of context wouldn’t show the whole person. and this one actually didn’t use that not-really-me construction herself, to be fair. But if you’re hassling a black person who’s in a park or in front of a house or driving down a street because you assume he or she or they don’t belong in that place, come on, if that’s not racist what is? You’re acting on racist assumptions that they don’t belong where you are.
And that’s why I’m not going to try to explain it to you. And I’m not blaming him. He shared the tape after the event unfolded and everyone was okay afterwards.
If you want to be a park rule enforcer, apply for the job. But if you try to enforce the park’s rules on your own, expect the unexpected.
Added:
I’m just wondering if it was a big male biker with MAGA tattoos, would he step up and remind him of the rules in the same manner? Or would he just go about his own business. I suspect he knew what kind of reaction he was going to get from her. Don’t know that for sure. It’s a guess.
Sold a WOOLF TICKET and it was bought.

I’m not disagreeing that what she did was racist…of course it was. I’m just saying that someone’s actions in their worst moments might be described as racist or sexist or whatever-ist, but it’s not necessarily a reflection of who they really are as a whole person. It’s super easy to forget that when we go into frenzy after some idiot like her chums the water while throwing a tantrum or what have you.
But I just find it amusing that you tell the world these actions of yours, things you were videoed doing and saying, aren’t you. Of course it’s you. It’s the private, shameful, non-best-behavior you, but it’s still you.
this - and without fear of being murdered by civilians either
I get it, but that’s a bit literalist for me, maybe even a little reductio ad absurdum. You and I both know that what they mean is that it’s not representative of them as a whole, that it’s an outlier, a bad moment, etc.
If you do a racist thing, it’s not a bad moment. It comes from much deeper than that.
He got an unexpected reaction and she got a misdemeanor record. He attempted to correct (reasonably) a legal violation that adversely impacts his avocation. She responded with entitlement that would have been used on a “poor” white/brown person, too, because you know, she is educated and monied, and you can’t tell me what to do. If it wasn’t a cop, f’u cause…
Discretion is the better part of valor. If she had been a reasonable sized/looking white dude in a MAGA hat, he probably would have done the same, for good reason. Attempting to throw shade in favor of a Karen behavior is an issue.
Well, that’s very generous of you. I think though, just my opinion, that if you’re going up to these folks and challenging them because of the color of their skin, it’s active, hurtful racism. It’s not a stray thought you catch yourself thinking and scold yourself for.
Then I guess we’re going to have to accept that everyone is racist. I don’t know a single person of any race who hasn’t done or said some racist shit while angry or drunk or whatever. Not one.
And I think you’re yet again ignoring that I agreed with that. Also, your “going up to folks” downplays that she was approached…legitimately…and reacted illegitimately. She wasn’t just out looking for someone to Karen. I mean, let’s just stick to what she did since she’s the one we’re talking about. If we want to talk about people who actually are died-in-the-wool racists who go out actively seeking someone to “challenge” that would be a different matter.
People have bad thoughts. Everyone does. All the fucking time. Don’t even bother trying to find me a fucking exception. It’s the ability not to act on them and to recognize them as wrong that makes the difference. People also have moments where they’re emotionally incapable of controlling their actions or thinking rationally, and that self-filter breaks down. Does it make them “a racist” who should forever wear a scarlet “R” and be outcast as an irredeemable pariah or does it make them a human being who done fucked up and did or said a racist thing?
Threatening to call the cops on people is a very learned behavior for white women. It isn’t just black men who wind up on the receiving end of it…altho that’s certainly been shown to be a rampant phenomenon thanks to cell phone videos lately. Still, I’m so frickin white you could strap me to your bike and use me as a reflector for night rides, and I and my friends got no end of that shit when growing up and doing something some nosey white lady observed and didn’t approve of. It’s like a fucking hobby for some of them…playing neighborhood deputy and shit.
That’s a shame.
