Senate Republicans will tweak President Donald Trump’s $9.4 billion rescission request — the White House’s attempt to give a figleaf of legitimacy to the Department of Government Efficiency’s rampage through the federal government — in order to get key Senate GOP holdouts onboard. The deal arrived on the same day that Trump’s Office of Management…
Too bad Senators and House members don’t experience staff cuts in their own individual offices.
Screw these POS’s.
In order to even stay in the Republican party much less succeed they have to become the absolutely worst version of themselves from rubber-stamping, soulless zombie on down.
So… Republicans can manage to do basically everything they want without worrying about the filibuster. But nearly all Democratic efforts are blocked by the filibuster. I am starting to think that maybe the filibuster really only benefits one party…
The less people know and the more ignorant and misinformed they can be kept, the more they are going to like Trump and the Republicans. It is truly hard to pick the worst of them, but Stephen Miller and Russ Vought sure do look the part.
Embroiled in all of this maladministration, cruelty, and corruption now, I just cannot fathom how it will all end.
Such courage expressed by these Senators.
This is not a Reconciliation Bill. Wouldn’t it be subject to the Filibuster?
Whoa! Nine billion dollars! (in a Dr. Evil voice). Out of a multitrillion buck budget. Not even pennies on the dollar. And yet, causing so much pain and suffering. Yeah, and otherwise, why would they even bother?
Yeah, Republicans get endless “reconciliation bills.” Whereas when Democrats control the Senate, they appear to get one (1) per two year session - or fewer. How does that work? And why does Self Satisfied Schumer kick back, put his readers at the tip of his nise like an old geezer, and support the travesty?
Essentially Auto- penning shit dump doesn’t bother to read.
I am against most of the shit the Republicans are promising but I am not to angry about rethinking goverment and how the bureaucacy works. How come Democrats keep painting themselves into the same deep state corner. Come up with a better more democratic way to do government. Push it, and push it hard.
Two centuries of competence down the tubes. Even John Quincy Adams, a fluent Russian speaker and diplomat, would find Trump’s behavior unfathomable. Diplomacy and intelligence are far cheaper ways to deal with conflict than killing each other on the battlefield or blowing up cities. The renewed war on State is all the more amazing given China’s involvement in the mix. Is debt diplomacy and krazy tariff policy all superpowers should offer?
So all my federal taxes are going to funding ICE, anointing the oval office in gold and paying for these scoundrels salary and healthcare? What a deal
What? Is every Republican Senator going to get his own side deal? A real case of I’ve got mine, so screw you.
Tacky is the word that comes to mind.
Something (or many somethings) catastrophically bad will happen as a direct result of their incompetence and they will blame it on Obama/Biden. And the press will dutifully report that it was, in fact, not republicans or Trump’s fault.
I think the title needs repair or rephrasing:
White House Twerks and Murky Promises
Senate GQP Holdup Embrace DOGE Cuts
WTF is really going on? On my way home from my brass band rehearsal last night, Jen Psaki was going on about Josh Hawley’s sudden pique of conscience exhibiting in his submitting a bill to restore Medicaid cuts he voted for in the reconciliation bill from two weeks ago.
The Senate appears to be a 101 piece jigsaw puzzle from at least 103 different puzzles and none of the pieces fit.
Can you be specific about how the bureaucracy wasn’t working? My spouse made a career out of investigating and writing about private sector corruption. He kept a list of stories he wanted to do. A long list. Regulation and public servants were the only ones restraining the crooks and fraudsters.
