White House Pushes Debunked Fraud Claims In Trump’s Anti-Vote By Mail Crusade | Talking Points Memo

A federal judge has called the voter fraud claims “misleading” and “inaccurate.”

But that hasn’t stopped top White House aides from tweeting out articles that touted them as part of a larger push to back President Trump’s false statements about vote by mail.

But, but…I thought she was never going to lie to us??

(Yes, I know, that was the first lie…)

By the time this is over, McInaney (sp intentional) will offend just about every black and suburban woman’s sense of decent and competent womanhood.

And those fake eyelashes have got to go. Or no,. Keep them. They’re all of a piece. and just one more offensive thing about this plastic doll. she will help lose Trump the election. We underestimate how many votes Sarah Palin cost John McCain. The rabid base loved her, but she made self-respecting women everywhere cringe.

Is anyone else getting really, really, really tired of all the relentless lying, bullshitting, and obfuscation?

If mail fraud is so prevalent, maybe we should ignore Trump’s vote and make him fly ‘home’ to Florida and stand in line to show how much he loves democracy?

Unless and until a judge not only finds the methodology flawed, but then fines, sanctions and makes them pay all court and opposing counsel costs for wasting everyone’s time, they will keep bringing cases until they find one of those GOP-forced-down-our-throats judges that will find in their favor so they can get the appeal up to the stacked Supreme Court.

Heck, making them pay now probably won’t stop them, but at least it refills the opponent’s coffers a touch. --sigh

I have served as a polling place manager in my County for several years. This experience has allowed me to have an “inside look” at everything from voter registration list management, vote counting, absentee vote treatment, canvassing, provisional voting, etc. It is an insult and an affront to all the local people who work tirelessly to conduct elections in our democratic republic with safety, security and fairness to have the White House flinging its BS everywhere. It is shameful.

Thanks again, Tierney, for your excellent reporting.

This one really annoys me. The article that she linked clearly is talking about inactive voters - ones who most likely moved or died. That is a normal occurrence and process.

Heck, my daughter, who has voted in Brooklyn since the 2016 primaries, is still getting board of elections mail at my house in Pennsylvania even though she submitted a proper change of address form.

Since Trump became president (small “p”, as he really doesn’t serve in the role), the WH press secretary simply devolved into being his designated liar and spin doctor. This is the “no fact” distortion zone of a pure propaganda outlet, and not a particularly skillful one, at that.

Statements from the Trump WH are only useful to get an idea of whatever con job or misdirection he’s trying to pull off in a given period.

As Lawrence O’Donnell pointed out a couple of years ago there is nothing illegal about being dead and still listed on register of voters.
Hell it’s not even illegal to be alive, vote, and then die.

And I too thank Tiernney for laying out the points of contention and, dare I say, Judicial Watch’s ratfuckery.

I so wanted to comment on her looks, but I thought maybe I shouldn’t, being a guy. I just really want to say…there’s so much fake going on with her Heil Barbie appearance. I know she’s striving for the standard white-supremacist version of beauty: thin, pale skin, blond hair, blue eyes…it’s just, I can’t help but notice how white-supremacisty she comes across.

Agreed.

My Wife is a longtime Voting Judge, and they put in long hours of hard work to make sure everybody gets to vote, safely and legally.
To spew out this vile spittle that voting is rampant with cheating is a slap in the face to all those who work very hard to ensure our Representative Republic has fair, open, honest voting.

Meanwhile, Trump’s allies — all the way up to the White House — are seizing upon it to spread misinformation about alleged fraud.

Hey, let’s ask her about the Protocols of the Elders of Zion next.

Judicial Watch is a Fascist Organization working to ensure White, Male, Conservative, Christians maintain their “traditional” power over everyone else. They grew out of the ashes of the John Birch Society, and that tells you all you need to know.

One can probably get away with some fake eyelashes, but drag queen size, no.

I suggest she give the sparkly blue ones a try.

Apparently he was in Florida for two days during the election and was driven right by the polling place.

Besides, how is he a resident of Florida? Of course, they have no income tax and are probably easy on the residency thing and other laws even for non-presidents. Does he have a state ID? Did he stand in line at some DMV to get it? I’m sure he hasn’t driven anything for decades.

I didn’t do anything when I moved from Colorado, and got a jury summons forwarded to my new address. I didn’t do anything about that either. Nothing happened. I assume they dropped me eventually. Meanwhile, I did not vote in NY and then fly to Colorado to vote again.

I’ve worked several times as a poll worker in NYC. Like any job, even a one day plus training one, it was very instructive. All the claims about voter fraud are absurd given how it actually works, which Trump and the others have no idea of whatsoever.

To for example fraudulently vote for someone else you would have to know their name and address and be able to replicate their signature. And they couldn’t show up later to vote. And given how local the polling places are here someone might well know you weren’t that person, even without voter ID. You can’t put on a different hat and turn into someone else as Trump has claimed. If you voted for yourself and then came back as your dead father you would be facing the same worker who might live on your block. Plus there’s locks on everything, backup paper ballots, and some cop carries the thumb drive in a sealed envelope to the central office, nothing is internet connected, etc. etc.

The only voting fraud that actually makes any sense and would be effective is the old time changing the numbers at city hall, and that would take complicity by a bunch of civil service employees and could be checked if suspicious. And of course what that Republican did in the South with ballot collecting.

The whole issue is of course racist bullshit. It’s like Reagan’s “welfare queen”. You know who Trumpsters are picturing when he talks about voter fraud, even when he doesn’t mention undocumented people, and so does he.

By the way, what is the last thing an undocumented person wants to do? Go to city hall and give their name, address, and signature to register to vote.
