WASHINGTON — White House trade adviser Peter Navarro says U.S. President Donald Trump was being “tongue in cheek” when he claimed at a campaign rally in Oklahoma that he asked officials to slow down coronavirus testing.

Yes, it’s entirely appropriate to make jokes about a public health crisis that has been mishandled by the President since Day 1, leading to over 100,000 deaths and 20M people out of work.

During Saturday’s rally in Tulsa, Trump explained that the “bad part” of widespread testing is that it leads to logging more virus cases. New cases have recently spiked in several U.S. states, but not just due to testing.
EVERY TIME they say something so supremely stupid that blows up in their faces, it’s “just a joke.” And then, in order to counteract the aforementioned supreme stupidity, they double down with comments that only reinforce said stupidity. When this hate fest is actually documented as a super spreader event, will it be remembered as a “light moment”?
One thing Donnie seems to be really, really good at — telling “jokes” while looking completely serious and without anyone knowing that they are jokes.
