Got an email from Uber Eats this morning-- touting free fares (up to $25 each ride) to and from two vaccine appointments-- from today until late July.

Yes, and no. It’s not like people have stopped getting vaccinated. Also those who got their first shots last week have to wait 3-4 weeks for their second.
The true anti-vaxers are deplorable,but the country is still moving in the right direction. Let’s celebrate the good, for once.

Once they get the vaccine approved for 3-5 or younger, I’ll be happy. I have a 3 year old granddaughter and once she’s safe, then I’m good.

It’s mind-boggling to me about how almost blasé we’ve become to these awesome vaccination numbers. In just a few short months, we’ve gone from a roaring, out of control pandemic that ruled our lives to a relatively controlled situation where those vaccinated can largely live normally again. We’ve gone from one of the worst situations in the world to one of the best.
I think it’s because competence and good governance is boring, the sort of thing you don’t notice until you don’t have it. Thank God we’re done with preening, self-absorbed disregard. At least for now.

For all my fellow NHL hockey fans out there. The US arenas have thousands of people in arenas. In the Canadian cities the crowds have been zero.
Canada had done better with their covid death rates but are really behind with their vaccines.

Am immuno-compromised myself. Our firm now > 70% vaxed has removed mask restrictions inside our offices. The norm, now flipped, is for those like myself to continue wearing their masks at all times. I’m cautiously OK with it-- being the one who must be wary and reduce my exposures to others as much as possible.
