The White House invited 50-plus Indiana state Republicans to Washington this week to again try to pressure those on the fence about President Trump’s mid-decade gerrymandering scheme to get in line with the plan. The meeting was held in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building Tuesday with lawmakers and White House officials under the guise of…
Well, at least the DC area male escorts got a few more customers while the Indiana Republicans were in town.
Indiana ? Just two seats ? It will be a whole different world soon so Kombo Cat sez everyone should just relax !
When I see statements like this:
“One thing I said and I gave my word — we’re not going to hurt anybody on Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security,” Trump said.
I’m reminded of an old joke.
How do LA lawyers say “f–k you”?
“Trust me.”
JD Vance is large of girth, but a small, small man.
Indiana will embarrass themselves
Indiana discussions? From what I have read over the last 10 years, if Donald Trump is in the room, there will be no “discussions.” Because he never shuts up. Nobody can get a word in edgewise, much less have a back’n’forth.
However, if it’s a round robin of folks “thanking” and praising “Him”, he’ll tolerate that.
That’s not a given. I’ve seen two analyses that say the TX-GQP is having second thoughts about what they’ve wrought in re-districting. Yes, they created 5 new solid red districts. But they can’t create new land and new voters, and all those Democratic voters had to be moved into new districts. That’s changed ten districts from solid-red to pink, i.e., “lean Republican” from “safe Republican.”
In an election where the GQP base is unenthusiastic and the blue base is very enthusiastic, “lean Republican” isn’t a good place to be. Remember 2018, anyone? This whole redistricting mess could easily turn out to be a net-zero (Democrats win half of the contestable seats) or if voters are really unhappy and have a mind to punish Republicans it could be a loss.
If California voters pass Newsom’s anti-gerrymandering gerrymander referendum TCF’s move in Texas could be a big own-goal.
As B. Bunny might say, “What a maroon!”
Trump’s allies are already threatening to back primary challengers
This time, the primary challengers are losing, going down, not just for the next vote, but for the rest of their careers. The majority of Americans do not like this government. They are quickly learning to distrust anyone who does.
Trump’s coattails is a diaper with loose Velcro.

You know? I don’t think so.
What we may have seen here from the Indiana delegation is saying whatever they could to stop the relentless badgering from tweedledum and tweedledummer about this ridiculous and possibly illegal district changing.
In a message sent to South Florida Rabbi Mario Rojzman on Aug. 22 related to providing chaplaincy services at the facility, Florida Division of Emergency Management Executive Director Kevin Guthrie said “we are probably going to be down to 0 individuals within a few days.” Rojzman, and the executive assistant who sent the original email to Guthrie, both confirmed the veracity of the messages to the AP on Wednesday.
After flushing several hundred mil in FL taxpayer bucks down the crapper. In very opaque contracts, many benefitting politically well connected folks, by a truly striking series of coincidences.
Good to see Meatball’s Manzanar shutting down. And Florida is likely going to eat the entire cost of this debacle.
How likely is it that DeSantis will use the same contractor to demolish the facility as he chose to build it?
Air Force to provide funeral honors to Ashli Babbitt
The U.S. Air Force will provide Jan. 6 rioter Ashli Babbitt with military funeral honors, reversing a Biden-era decision that denied her family’s request, according to a legal group that has represented her family.
Judicial Watch, the conservative legal group, on Wednesday made public a letter from Under Secretary of the Air Force Matthew Lohmeier, extending an offer to allow the special funeral procedures to take place.
“Ashli Babbitt’s family is grateful to President Trump, Secretary [Pete] Hegseth and Under Secretary Lohmeier for reversing the Biden Defense Department’s cruel decision to deny Ashli funeral honors as a distinguished veteran of the Air Force,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.
In May, the government agreed to pay Babbitt’s family nearly $5 million as part of a settlement.
We will see what people decide and when.
Clearly a very incompetent government in the Trump administration, so it is a question of when this turns into a super majority of disaffected.
Well, they are the party that almost destroyed their own electrical grid just to spite the Federal Government.
Okay, so now it’s time to dig up old Bob Lee and re-plant him in his own back yard, Arlington Cemetary. With a nice big headstone and equestrian statue.
Wait for it.
As someone who has lived in Indiana for the last 30+ years, I’ve seen an acceleration of stupid over the last ten years with each successive legislative session more stupid than the last. A few will do the right thing, but most will capitulate. They hold 40 of 50 seats in the Senate and 70 of 100 in the house after the last catastrophic gerrymander. I don’t like our chances of them holding the line on this.
Vice President JD Vance joined the meeting for 15 to 20 minutes toward the end of the day to lead a conversation on why everyone was there: to try to persuade Republicans in the Indiana state legislature to agree to join an unconstitutional coup in support of a fascist Republican dictatorship.
Can we please stop dancing around what’s actually happening and just fucking say it out loud? Enough with the limp dick bullshit word salad.
