As the United Stated tops 200,000 lives lost to COVID-19, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany suggested Tuesday that the fact that 2 million people haven’t died due to coronavirus is worth celebrating.
McEnany also recycled a tired defense for the Trump administration’s response to COVID-19, saying the President took “immediate action” by banning travel from China
I was talking to some ladies that don’t follow the news much. And in their minds this is all true, they really credit him with saving two million lives. That is how propaganda work. Americans have the president that they deserve.

I would have sworn Trump said we were looking at the prospect of 15 cases, soon down to zero.
However, subsequent events prove the truth of her statement that "the fact that we have come nowhere near that number is a testament to this president taking immediate action.”

Most of those people who died were old or minorities. Not Trump’s type of people at all, so why would he care? And lots of his followers think the numbers are made up anyway.

Also, it occurs to me that the news and data and people talking so much about how this virus has a vastly disparate impact on POC and their communities really only functioned to encourage these assclowns.
