I don’t know about other places but my local school board members are elected, and they receive no pay for those positions. The school superintendent’s salary is paid for out the school district’s money. And that money comes from our property taxes.
Now I know that most districts get some share of money from the state, the amount has been decreasing over the years, but most school districts use that state money for teacher salaries.
I wonder if DeSantis even knows this? Do his kids go to public schools?
